Hopefully we are dining and drinking inside a MI restaurant on the 16th of January. What’s the decision?

Subject to change: LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said Wednesday she hopes to let restaurants reopen for indoor dining on Feb. 1, as her health department extended a two-month ban by an additional two weeks while letting non-contact sports resume this weekend.

Should be interesting. Have a trip planned last week of January for Houghton. Missed by a couple days. Looks like I’ll have to bring my grill and tali gate in Ramada’s parking lot. Stupid, all bars and restaurants open in St.Germain with no problems.Derby has been going on this past weekend and this weekend. Need snow bad!

I will admit I no longer follow or watch the covid score board but while all these bar's, restaurants and eateries continue to shutter in Michigan and the Governors choice to extend shut down before this order expired today just makes no sense. Here in beautiful sunny Wisconsin, The city of Milwaukee which for the state covid numbers was and I capitalize.. GROUND ZERO (and it may still be) not only for cases but deaths is moving to phase where restaurants, bars and eateries will be allowed to function at "FULL" capacity as long as they have a safe plan in place. I just find it incredible that she is allowing this to continue, NOT following the science, especially since we now have what 3 approved vaccines for those who want it and will some day get it? It simply makes no sense. And with the new doom and gloom with the mutated strain, I fear.. but hope I am wrong that she will continue the destruction of small business even after the 1st, especially with the unfortunate lack of snow we haven't yet seen the mass migration of people. I hope I am wrong!!

The only difference between MN, WI, and MI is WI stayed open. The graphs showing the trends of cases have curves, and they look nearly identical between the three states.

We have a trip planned and booked for the 28th to Houghton. Looks like we will be cancelling. The girls want a warm spot to eat and use bathrooms. This will not cut it. Count 13 people out of spending our money which we are very sorry for. :(

Unfortunately I fear you aren't the only one with that mindset, which I get and wish some certain woman governor would also see is happening, but speaking of that... what are they doing for bathroom stops if anything? anybody know?

I was up by Gogebic Dec 27-31st. All bars/restaurants allowed you to go inside, order food/beverage and then take it outside. Of course you can use the bathrooms and I brought my helmet inside and left it there to warm up. (I hate putting on a cold helmet). No one cared about leaving your helmet inside and they certainly let you use the restrooms.

Gotta have a mask on but otherwise, that was the deal and looks like it will continue to be that way till Feb 1st.

I can say I only stopped at 3 places in Michigan and all would let you come in use restroom and warm up for a couple minutes and place orders. Sun was shining and was in the twenties so now a big deal to be outside.

Ohio remained open and added a curfew when our restaurants closed.

Deaths Since Michigan Closures (November 17th) AND Ohio CHOOSING to remain open with curfew.

Michigan - 6,372

Ohio - 4,218

The ole Mitt is 33% higher. Seems like it's working...

Just a thought to the flu and cancer posts you have to wonder if the lockdowns and stay home and all the extra cleaning that is being done if that is what has helped with them? Again just a thought.
