Each year about this time I spend a week at the EAA Fly In in Oshkosh. The show was cancelled last year because of Covid, two years ago we welcomed 642,000 guests. We're expecting to surpass that number this year. If it's been on your Bucket List, this might be the year to see it. Thanks to Boeing, all kids under 18 get in free. I work on the Logistics side of things, mainly getting people from Point A to Point B along with food and beverage for that many guests. It's a challenge but it's fun work and we meet folks from all over the world. This is something that everyone should experience once in their lifetime. Here's a couple of video links, one current and another from 2019. The show runs the last week of July, hope to see you there!

Did they ever say the attendance numbers? went to Bristol Renaissance Fair last sunday, have been going for years and like Oskosh was cancelled last year. This year it was jammed packed, i have never seen so many people there in all the years i've been going, all I got to say is good for them! and saw about a dozen masks.

Not much to share from Friday, been too busy. The crowds have been huge but manageable and I've met some fine people from all over the world. I did manage a couple of pictures this morning as the sun was coming up. The colors at that time of day can't be beat even with a camera phone.

This is a hangar at the Pioneer Airport where they work on the Antique Aircraft, part of Wittman Field.

This one reminded me of "Eagle 1". A guy with so many toys he needs a hangar to store them.

...and this one's for when you can't decide if you wanna go flying or go fishing, or is it Fly Fishing?

Happy Endings

Now that I've had a day to rest and recover from the week-long AirVenture in Oshkosh, here's a few notes;

Attendance was down from two years ago. 608,000 people passed through the gates this year. It's quite possible that Covid played a part as some countries still have a travel ban in place. Still, a lot of people from all corners of the globe.

Masks. They weren't required but a lot of people were wearing them, especially from the Asian countries. I've had my jabs so I felt comfortable around that many people.

Everything ran smoothly, including traffic in & out, a few bottlenecks but the waits were short. I had a number of people tell me, "I wish the rest of the country was run as well as AirVenture".

The weather was great, warm, a little humid, and we had storms one night. Just enough rain to settle the dust and knock down the humidity.

No mishaps, unless you count the time I tripped over a picnic table and dinged up my shin bone....that's gonna put a hitch in my get-a-long for awhile.

Hope to see you next year!
