Where do you mount your gps on your sled?

Looking for different options and ideas.

I was thinking of just mounting it to the handlebar with the Ram mount that it came with. It's designed for a motorcycle so it came with that mount.

Any better suggestions?

I have tried several locations and on the bars with the ram swivel mount works best for me.

Never on the bars. To easy to lose it. I mounted miine to the hood below handle bar height to prevent it getting knocked off.
PR is right if yaa R riding a Polaris. Those handle so badly its hard to keep them upright. Now on my SD's and Cat have had them on the bars for years and never lost one yet.Kidding aside for trail riding with the Garmin 276C with the ram swivel mount and position the unit right against the center of the handlebar pad its quite secure.

I have always mounted mine on the handle bars and have never had an issue. I had it mounted on my Yamaha the same as the new doo and find it works good for me tucked up tight to the handle bar pad area. It does not block the view of the gauges, does not hit or interfer with anything during a turn and even though it is above the gas cap a bit, it poses no problems during refueling. It is right in plain view with quick easy access to navigate with when needed.

Handlebars with ram mount. I just lower the gps below the bars if I need to roll the sled over. I also use the tether that came with the unit and attach it to the bars just incase. Have not lost one yet.

I have a tendency to like to roll my sled out of a stuck and I would certainly forget about it on the bars. On the dash with a modified ram mount works for me the best.

I say go for it on the bars. That's what I did and it works great for me! I have the Garmin Oregon 20. Always in reach and always readable. Easy to pop out of the cradle and unplug. Convenient all around on the bars.

I use the handlebar RAM mount and mount it to the steering post "T" bar sandwiched in between my risers (you can see the gps in the pics sticking out from riser area). I also use a tether cord for safety but that thing doesn't get hit with anything when riding hard in the tree's or rolling the sled over and is right where it needs to be to see it and ease of hitting buttons while moving. Here's a couple of pics to show where its mounted but I'll try to find better one's or take a better pic and post it. Also I always hard wire my gps unit to the sleds - no cigarette lighted adaptor crap, they will corrode and leave you stranded. One last thing is I bought a better external antenna to help with not losing signal when deep in the thick trees and mounted it with velcro on top of my brake fluid cap on handlebars (can be seen in pictures). I use the Garmin 276c gps if that matters.

GPS Mounting Location

I have mine mounted between the handlebars with a RAM mount ball on the brace between my risers. Below is a pic. I also have a RAM handlebar mount on the sled (left side of bars by the controls). My GPS has been on the handlebars for years and over 10,000 miles of trail with no issues.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I think I'll proceed with the handlebar mount and hope that I don't roll the sled!
