Where to mount Slidekicks

Bought a set of Slidekicks after reading about them here. Anyway where's the best place to mount? There going on a 2003 Classic with the M-10. In front or behind the front idler wheel? Seems like there's not a real good place to mount them. Alot of slots cut out of the rails now. Thanks

M20 AirWave with Sidekicks

I have a 2010 Apex that has an AirWave suspension and Sidekicks. We mounted them using existing holes in the skid frame just over half way back. I have only had to put them down twice so far, but they worked as well as expected. The snow still has time to get into the very back of the suspension and onto the rear cooler.

Be sure to use an eye-bolt to hold them off of the ground when you do not want to use them. Just clipping them over the rail does not work after the first big bump.

Doesn't make much difference where you put them. IF you want to put them up I'd go behind the idler. IF you do like I do and just leave them down ALWAYS then you could put them anywhere. I love Slidekicks because you can basically forget about them when they are down.

Just behind front bogey wheel

I mounted my slidekicks just behind my from bogey wheel! I had to drill new holes in the rails as there was not an existing hole to use. I just tucked mine up on the rails when not in use and have only had on fall back down once! They work nice and I really like them!

I must be older then I thought cus I am like t600, I can't never keep mine up either...but other then that really like them. I read quite a bit before I put them on as to the "best" location and feel that mid way back is the best. If for some reason it was to get caught on something (which I can't see that happening) it is between main skid mounting locations. Also I think throughing snow into the back 1/2 of the skid is more effective on the coolers. Next think I am gunna buy are some of those slydogs boggies. They look cool and say that they will pull snow in/out depending on how you mount them.

How to keep in position?

How do you keep your Sidekicks in position with the "hook" facing down? No matter how hard I tighten they always swivel up!

MIne have always stayed put. Try putting a star washer on it. The jagged star should dig into the aluminum rail and hold in plkace better. When I put mine on i put the most down pressure I could. Liek I said I just leave them don all the time. No reason to put them up really.

Shock resovoir

Having the M-10 on mine, it has the resevour for thr shock on the left side. Do you thinj that will be a problem?

Yea I did have that problem, I just put them in a vise and tightened them up and problem solves. I would think the lock-tite will work fine.

Slidekicks installed

Installed the Slidekicks today. Put them just behind the front idler wheel. they seem to flip up out the way just find and hang up over the rail. Thinking about getting some eye-hooks to hook them into when not in use though. Thanks for all the input!!

don't bother with the eye hooks if you don't really need them. just set on top of rail and they stay put.
