Does anyone know where to connect this gps power supply? It's for a 12v and my sled doesn't have a battery.

Thanks in advance

Tap into your lighting circuit any were convenient. It should be a 12 volt system, since you don't have a battery it will only provide power when sled is running. But I am sure you know that. Be sure your GPS reqiures 12 volts most of the newer ones only require 5 volts. So be careful before you connect otherwise you will fry your GPS.

Better make sure that GPS will operate on AC. Without a battery you will not have DC which is what most GPS units need. May need to install a rectifier to get DC.

I believe that this is correct. I do need to operate on dc. I don't think that I need a rectifier though.

Maybe I can plug it into where a battery would be if I had one on it?

I have 2010 switchback and it is all set up for a power supply. I bought the kit from the Polaris dealer and it shows you what you have to do. Plug and play very easy no cutting of wires at all.

I think 30-40$ can't remember check with Polaris. All I know it was a no brainer job unless you can't read.

Polarisrider- Do you use this battery now? Can this charge through your snowmobile or do you take out an charge inside?

Yes and it don't keep up with the way I have it wired. but it goes all day compared to the 3 hrs. off the GPS Battery. Run your GPS until the battery goes dead then use the on board battery. During the first 3 hrs. it is charging while you are on the GPS internal Battery. You can charge the battery pack by removing it to your room at night or in the sled. My sled just happens to not keep up. I think that my GPS pulls alot of power, more so than other brands. If you got estart then you get all day. problem with Yami's is if you run Battery dead you have no pull rope on the 4 strokers. Towing the tonage back to camp is rough on a Poo belt.

Buy the snobunje version it is a fraction of the cost of Pol. version. problem is it is out of stock right now.

Yes it is a Polaris #. I ordered it when I bought my sled from Nelsons speed shop out of Greenville MI.They have a web site. never looked for anything else so you might find it cheaper.

The guy at Nelson's told me to buy the 12volt adapter. It's a darn cigarette lighter plug! $50 for a cigarette lighter plug! He had no idea what he was talking about. I hope that they take it back based on their mistake.

Mbender,

Do you have the part number?

I just put 12volt plug in on my non-electric start 2010 800 dragon switchback.I had dealer put it on. It works with the electrical system when motor is running. Dealer got it from parts unlimited. It powers my garmin colorado 300 gps only when motor is running. Think Snow!

I've now found out that Polaris sets up the sleds for 12v accessories. There is a plug right by the steering wheel post.

It came with a plug to wire it directly to a battery so I'll just wire it directly to that plug.

Sorry I didn't tell you that's how mine is setup. Like I said I never looked at anything else because this is what I wanted.
