Where to watch the game north of the bridge?

I have a group of guys heading from Lake Gogebic up to spend the night in Copper Harbor on Sunday and we want to watch the Vikings game at noon. We want to get north of Houghton so we can still make Brockway Mountain before dark. Any suggestion on where we could catch the game? Thanks!

I was in the Mariner North last year and they had TVs all over in their bar and restaurant area. Chances are they would have your game on. You could call them to check 888-MA-NORTH.

We are staying there at 2 cabins, but I don't think we will get there by noon, so I want some options in between Houghton and Copper Harbor. We don't want to rush up there but we may have to. Thanks!

Not a lot of good "football game watching" places north of the bridge. I have been sitting here trying to run through your options. Almost any place will have the game on, or will turn it on for you, so that is not really much of an issue.

What I have come up with is: The Loading Zone in Lake Linden has several tv's in the bar area. Kind of drawing a blank for Calumet right now. Phoenix has the Cliff View and Vansville. Eagle Harbor Inn I think has a TV in their bar area, but best to call first. Probably one of the best places to watch TV in a bar setting in Keweenaw County is the Bear Belly Bar in Lac La Belle. One giant flat screen above the bar and then several on the walls around the dining area. LLB is almost as far a trip as Copper Harbor, but is a beautiful spot. Good food too. In the harbor you have the Mariner North or Ziks, both good places to watch a game.

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks John! I was thinking about Vansville, I like that spot. I met you there last year, not sure if you would remember that or not. I guess we will have to see where we are at close to noon, but this gives us several options. Gotta love this site! Thanks again.

I've been to the Loading Zone in the past to watch a game and had a great time. If it's the same owner (it's been 4-5 years or so since I've been there) he's a football fan too. He may also be a Farve fan if I remember correctly. Anyway, had a good time there either way. Good luck!

I would shoot for Bear Belly in LLB, Eagle Harbor Inn, Vansville or Cliff View. All 4 put you within 25 miles or so of Brockway, with Eagle Harbor being the closest.

Game starts at 1 EST. Should be over by 3:30 to 4:00 barring overtime. That gives you an easy ride to Brockway by Sunset, which is 5:28.

FWIW, Eagle Harbor Inn had bowl games on when we were there New Year's Day & a decent flat screen at the bar. Eagle Harbor easily has the best food of the 3. LLB had better food with the previous owners IMHO. At Cliff View or Vansville, it's pretty much frozen pizza, snacks & footlongs.
