Which ski is the best for Yamaha attak

I have a 2006 attak i would like to put new 5.7, 6.9 pilot skis on. Does anyone have any thoughts on which one would be the
best or any ski suggestion. If pilot is choice what parts do i need to order. By the way 85% trail riding.

Not sure what you mean by best ski? Stock Yam ski works very well with Bergstrom triple points, shims & ski savers for trail riding no darting & carves well also good in loose stuff too. If you want a dual carbide ski for some reason Yamaha now sells a dual carbide ski new this year as an accessory that bolts on to their sleds. I don't like dual carbide skis from Doo very bad performance in loose stuff in my past experience but if that is what you want it would be best to contact your Yam dealer for the new Yam dual carbide ski than mess around with mod pilot ski kits. Dual carbide ski made by Yam for Yam sleds.

just heard about the new skis from Yamaha would be interested in them. From what i have heard they cut down on darting and really take the turns without to much pushing.Wonder what they are going for

I didn't see anything on TY but didn't do a search either. My interest is not high since dual carbides cost too much & Bergstroms have my stock skis working very well already. My doo buds all converting to single carbide skis don't want cost of dual carbides or rotatating carbides inside to outside ski. Not much Ty users can say about performance until the snow flies. I did see pictures & looks just lke the the doo skis but probabaly different enough to avoid pantents. Daul carbide skis in loose stuff or any powder really do suck won't turn at all just pushes too much. Yam accessories belts & standard skis not expensive at all but not sure about price of new dual carbide ski but any Yam dealer can give you a price just call.

I believe Pilots use one carbide in the middle and one way out on the side. This is better than a 'duely' where the two carbides run close together. Under certain conditions the area between the carbides gets packed full of snow and you basicaly have no carbides. I had 'duelys' on a Vector and hated them. People have been bashing Yami skis for years. If you do what Whitedust says and shim them and get a decent set of single carbides on they will be just fine for most applications. Shimming is important. If you go with the Pilots go with the wider ones. The front end of an Attak will sink out of sight if you put narrow skis on it. However you wouldnt have to worry about turning if you were stuck.

buddy had same sled and went with C&A ski's not sure which ones but was very happy with the performance, yam ski's are just about wothless, unless you can burn them for heat.
