Any information on trail conditions for the White Pine area or Lake Gogebic Houghton/Hancock areas? Have reservations at White Pine Sunday through Wed. They won't let us back out of the reservations because the trail conditions are good according to them. 8 hour drive and $350 for three nights. Any information from lake Gogebic to Houghton and Hancock area would be nice.

Make sure they have access to dryers for you, rain in the forecast. Trails may be good, but looks like you'll be getting soaked.

Thursday 01/19 trails were good from Twin Lake to White Pine, but deteriorating rapidly with warm weather and sunshine. 13 from Greenland to trail 101 fair to good Thursday. Trail 12 was starting to show wet spots late in the day, from WP to Ontonagon. Trail 137 was very good. 13 loop from Greenland to TL very good.
Friday we rode north from Houghton.
Friday only the 3 from Houghton to Calumet groomed, all other trails north were whooped up and took a beating today. Started lightly raining about 3 hours ago in Houghton and still raining. I don't believe they groom trails in the rain. Might start grooming in 3 days?...IDK
plenty of snow from Greenland to CH.....
we are packed up and leaving in morning

I got home last night. Silver City, Bergland, Gogebic areas are toast. We experienced the same conditions from Mass and north as what just_ride just said. I'm sure this rain and no grooming is going to destroy them until mid next week when the forecast turns around.

Please keep the reports coming in. Heading up to Bergland on Tuesday, staying for a week. Figure we'll have to wait until at least Thursday or so to have a chance at any fair/ok conditions.

I find this site to be pretty accurate on reports you guys need now. http://www.msasnow.org/trail-reports/

miller91579 don't go, postpone your trip if you can. It don't look good.

wrestleruiu, I hope you can get your money back & cancel that trip. Personally I have had nothing but dull experiences in the White Pine area from grooming efforts to trail signage to restaurants to fuel availability & attitude of the people who work there, all POOR in my opinion. White Pine is not even updating their site this year, wonder why???
Here is a report from just West of Gogebic from this morning & its only going to get worse as the week goes on because temps are expected to be in the high 30's for the week:

Sno Valley Riders Snowmobile Club Trail Report

Trail Condition: Fair
Last Groomed: January 18th, 2017
Base: 16"
Past 24hr: 0"
Reported On: January 21st, 2017 @ 9:56am
Groomer Report
Trails are taking a beating and the temps/rain yesterday did not help us at all. *All of our trails are in FAIR condition for now but we have suspended grooming for a couple days. *There will be some brown areas to deal with until the snow falls again next week.
