Thanks all JD'ers for all of your trail reports and fantastic pics of the area! It makes our lives so much easier to know when we really have riding conditions to make it worth the monster drive! Although I don't post much I come here FAR too much - and I'm sure there are so many others out there like me!! It's a privelage to read all the posts here - from the solid info to the rants to the absolute HI-larity here!!
Pulling the kids out of school for our 'field trip'...how lucky are they?
Look forward to the trails and the visit to the Konteka! XcArt raves about it so should be a great spot to catch the Packers game.

X2...picking some guys up at the airport on Thursday and then Gogebic bound for the long weekend! As much as it would be nice to ride mid-week, jobs and other things prevent it so hopefully the trails are not too packed.

Maybe saturday everyone will decide not to ride in anticipation of the Packers game! When they win, they'll be too hungover to sled on Sunday? Have a great safe weekend!!

WE'll be UP in W.P. this weekend also, have fun & be safe. The Konteka is always a greta place for anything!! The drives not that bad, we usualy make it almost every weekend thru the winter and it's always worth the drive.

Trailering the 32 ft'er

This will be the only drive with the trailer! Will be nice to just haul it up there and park it! Nice thing is, I won't drive pulling the 32'er - just have to co-pilot (um, yes, nap) Drive time should speed up significantly without the big red monster behind us!!
Well hopefully we'll see ya'll at the Konteka. We're hard to miss with the 3 incredibly well behaved (OK, rowdy) boys and my chatty cathy self!?!
I've yet to see this house! As long as it has heat, indoor plumbing and access to the trails, what else do ya need!! ;)

We do the same thing, leave the sleds there so no more pullin the trailer. I'm sure we'll run into ya at the Konteka. You will love it in W.P., fun to be had year around.
I got your P.M. and will shoot ya 1 back sometime today or in the morning, keep your eye on that ranlam character(sp??), he can get a lil outta hand!!! LOL

Its been snowing good since yesterday. Prolly got another eight inches in 24 hours. Plenty of snow now.

OK, i just let out a little bit of a yelp and clapped my hands like a seal. (I'm a girl...i can do that if I want!) EXCELLENT! Thanks for the update! Sounds like the Lk Superior snow machine is getting back on track! Was really hoping for more snow in the NW of WI...because I LUV them and because it'll keep traffic down in the UP! Now that the UP is looking like it's alright, need to THINK SNOW for the NW!!

Holy cow am not used to new phn - took me forever just to tell u that! Kids want to make sure that's a Hummer and the 13 year old wants the specs.
Husb wants to know the trailer layout...
We just picked up a good friend who is one of the best riders I know ans hasn't been riding since, gasp, 2003!!! Hard to believe!!
It's always fun pulling a trailer in this city...yeah on the expressway...watch out! Here we come!!

Not to be aa sappy broad, but I'll just say thanks one more timw ro John for the site and to aaall the good folks that have helped me out with conditions, phones and svs and just been cool and helpful!!

We're ready to ride!!! (Well, after a hopefully windless 8 hour drive!)

Conditions so far!! ;)

OK, fresh snow trax around Racine.

Deer in the trail just N of Milwaukee.

Our usual Wendy's pit stop for diesel for truck and fuel for the people didn't disappoint! Roads are clear with an outdoor temp of 29, in truck temp of 72 -
Merle on the radio - now boot scoot boogie

OH, you meant TRAIL/SNOW conditions not my trip UP to the UP!?!
My bad ;)

actually not a bad ride, 130" wheel base and lots of tire to absorb bumps, but very loud, you sit next to the diesel engine and tranny plus tire hum but that is what the KICK BUTT stereo is for.
