My wife is in that Women On Snow Trip next weekend out of Eagle River , actually we ride with the girls in our group Thursday and Friday AM and go to the Yoop for a couple nights and pick them up on our way home Sunday. just wondering what you think it will be like by then? I know its 5 days out but wondering what you are seeing in your area ,thx.

Well I'm not WD but....
Driving to ER & back yesterday afternoon, most sleds I saw out (not many for a Saturday) were nearly all Trackside rentals. Trails were an icy mess. The grade thru ER has lost about 1/2 its height in town where you can really visually see how it is built up. The ice castle looked terrible, its spires were all gone. Road crossings were bad, road routes are bare. I would XLD any plans until we get snow. 4" min if good packing snow, more if fluff.

Regarding the "base": My driveway had a nice base too. By late afternoon, the base had softened until just walking on it left foot prints. Now, add rain all evening to that and when it finally turns cold, plan on ice.

I felt they should have closed the trails to preserve them. However, after viewing my driveway, maybe it wouldn't have mattered?

Jim was accurate as usual. #1 Need cold to freeze up trails & lakes again...#2 Need 5" of new snow....#3 Groomers need to work out the current damage to trails which ER does a good job. #4 surrounding towns need need to groom out as well. Prolly some degree of all this will happen from Wednesday to Friday. Women On Snow has their act together and will make the best of it...imo. On the 17th best conditions were north of BC so logic is that area will recover better too. Enjoy:)

Oh I thought that was my last boat ride of 2016 season. I run I/O's not those bolt on things like you do, so I have to worry about cracked blocks. Plus, my newest ride still needs some tweeking. dec 017.jpg As many here have said, this is the longest January thaw I remember & I don't think it will end until at least Wednesday. Just got a call from trail boss, no grooming tonight either. I won't update conditions again until the groomers roll.

Wow nice old evinrude boat and trailer. For a 50 year old boat it's exceptionally clean and shows little use.Bimini top looks like it's never been used! Is it a chevy 4 banger? Anyway your have 4" of snow coming Wednesday with colder temps. I know it won't get you back like driving on cloud of snow but this may get trails rideable again. Looking at the cameras up dare, you lost over a foot! 62 forecasted in STL tomorrow.

They were all plugged up, couldn't even get fuel to enter them. Did a rudimentary cleaning to start/fog & winterize. Took advantage of warm to remove carbs & just ordered 2 kits yesterday.
On another note, I found where Ichan put the money after he sold the routes to London....... I think the empty portion is from JKR receiving his pension.

Not really, he will be up next week Fri. Just small talk to kill time. Can't snowmobile, hopefully we can when he & group from MN arrive.

Guess my snow I was sending you was 1/4 inch instead of 4"! Still have a week before we come up hopefully cold temps return and the snow comes. That evenrude is quite the antique. I never saw 2 carbs on a 4cyl chevy powerd stock boat. R U going to pull the fuel tank for cleaning?

Boating.....really!!!!!

Got back from Quebec on Monday and its melting down in Canada too!!!

The truck ride back from Christmas,MI to Lando (we watched the "meltdown" Packer game @ Foggy's) showed a lot of trail damage along the whole route.

Now that taxes are here, you guys can ride boats or sleds or take sleds waterskipping for all I care....its time to make hay, eh.
