Try www.Kosirs.com, located about 90 minutes north of Green Bay. They run trips on both the Peshtigo and Menominee Rivers.

Right now, the Peshtigo is low because of lack of rain, so the first part of the trip is a real workout paddling through rocks. Still great whitewater, Class III in the middle section though. Keep an eye on their river gauge, when it gets to +6 or more the fun really begins. I have done it at -3, and at +12

I have never done the Menominee, but that is some big water, Class IV rapids they run there.

Great plan to do this with the week in the 90's predicted

I rafted the wolf river at shot gun eddie's a few times and it's a good run. I ran it with high and low water levels. Some rapids were closed at high levels and looked killer. You can get some good fireworks on the reservation around that area also.

A group of friends and I used to go rafting on the wolf river every year. We would camp at Rustic Woods campground and then drive down the road to rent the rafts. Thats about what I remember from those trips. I do believe it was a good time.

Yes everybody should go white water rafting this summer

We go every year in the 2nd week of August and it's awesome. I went for the first time 3 years ago and i wont miss a year from here on out....... Instead of Eddy's we use Big Smokey Falls. The difference is you can take your time and make the trip as long as you want and not take the school bus back to Eddys to get your vehicle. At Big Smokey Falls your vehicle is at your destination. We carpool from the nearby campground Then a short drive to the camp grounds from there. Its a blast you raft for a few hours then there is this Indian family that has a burger/beer stand just off the river. You stop have lunch and hang out IN the falls, i sat under/in the falls last year in this cave. Then you head out and raft some more. Bring money with you while rafting.

Shotgun Eddy - ahh the memories. If it was not that last waterfall before the bus that will kill you, its the 75 people they have packed onto a 60 person bus flying up that curvy road. If that is not enough - watch out for the poison ivy along those stretches. It REALLY hurts when you get it in your eyes and mouth...

I did Shotgun Eddies with my son on July 2nd. Had a great time. At that time the river had been closed for the previous 10 days due to high water, so when we went the rapids were bigger that normal. I fell out on one set of rapids and my son did on another. That means we did a set of rapids without the raft. My suggestions include be prepared to get wet, lose anything that is not tied down, wear your life preserver tight, and bring sunscreen. They do not allow cans or bottles or liquor, however there were 2 concessions along the way that sold soda, beer and hotdogs. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Wacthing that video reminded me I broke my ankle on that waterfall. I was wacthing the locals body surfing off the fall. So if they can do it so can I. The third time over is when it happened, I caught the wrong path down hit a big rock or two. I was also probley 22 or so at the time and I'm pretty sure I had a few in me. I don't think I'd try again.

We stop at a few areas swim/ horse around and take our time so our trip can go from 1100 am to 7 or 8 at night with a real nice sunset. We try to make the most of this once a year event.

About 5 years ago, 10 us from college did the Wildman Ranch weekend. The Peshtigo was more like the Push To Go as the water level was real low but the whitewater rafting down the Menomonie was a blast. We also did paintball, golf and closed a few local establishments down. fun area.
