John,
Where can I go to get 'accuate' forecasts for the mountain west? I'm looking for the areas from Cheyene to Salt Lake City. Do you have any favorite sites you use?
Thanks for YOUR great site and hope for have a speedy recovery...

Hi Tim.

You are probably best just going to the NWS forecasts. Make sure you are getting mountain forecasts and not valley as the two will differ considerably- especially when a storm is rolling through.

Sorry I do not have a list of places to go, but when I want a forecast I actually just do it myself! So I don't have a lot of experience searching for other forecasts.

This has been pretty good for mountain weather. Just click on the map. http://www.weather.gov/ That will zoom you in closer and then click again exactly where you want the info for. After the page loads there is another close up map and that will also show you the elevation of where you clicked. Eric
