Who got the most from Lake effect storm?

ishpeming got like 2 or 3 inches, not enough for me to risk even the backup sled. I took the XC skis to mark some jumps for us to ski instead. Went into water in the long grasses up to my waist with the skis off (amateur mistake, I know). I'm lucky / prepared though... goretex proshell pants and I did not get a single drop of water on me.

I would have to say I'm about 4-5 miles as the crow flies from JD and I'm at a lower elevation. I'd say I got about 10 total here.

Paradise Mi On Whitefish Bay

I drove up to my cabin in Paradise Mi on Whitefish Bay Friday night from Grand Rapids and it snowed pretty hard from Gaylord on. When we got to Trout Lake in the U.P. the snow was really coming down at about 9:00 pm. We were plowing through about 8 inches of fresh snow on M123 so the wife and I decided to stop for a beer at the Bear But Bar in in Eckerman. When we were done plowing our way to the cabin all 290 miles from home I would guess 8 to 10 inches of fresh snow with 12 to 14 inches of snow on the ground.

After we got the wood stove going we went out front to look out on the Bay and there were 7 ships parked real close to the U.S. side with all there lights on. It was a neat sight to see. I see that a lot on Whitefish Bay as my thinking is ever since the Edmunds Fitzgerald went down the ships must have to wait it out if the weather and water is to rough out past Whitfish point. Those ships stayed in the Bay till somtime late Sat. night.

I saw the same thing back on the last week in October when MI got all the high winds. Me and the wife went to Mackinaw City and saw 6 or 7 Freighters parked close to shore on the Lake Huron side waiting out the wind storm, very cool to see. Furthermore, the wife and I have been to the Bear But Bar in a long time, I think I will have to make some time in the next couple weeks a go! Thanks for sharing bud!
