WI Deer Hunting Season?

When does deer gun season start & end? Can we finally get started sleddin on Dec 1st again in Vilas County,WI?

Well, once again the DNR is running a few short seasons along with the typical 9 day hunt. I haven't heard if there is gonna be a "holiday hunt" yet though. Sure hope not, but I assume there will be. Last year I think it depended where you were as far as the gun hunt went. We were riding here early December if I remember right. Here's a link I found on their site:

Last year plenty of early snow but we couldn't ride until about the 17th or so if I remember right due to extended gun deer hunting season? Shot out most of the deer in Vilas so I was hoping DNR would have shorter season to bring back the herd & get back to riding on Dec 1. Seeing a few deer but not many.

11/2/10 ~ Price County snowmobile trails will open December 13, 2010, following a statewide anterless rifle deer hunt, December 9-12, provided we have ample show cover.
