I'm looking at going with the family and we usually go to Green Bay but I'd like to go check this area out as well...Any recommendations on a good waterpark that would be ideal for my 7yr old and 2.5yr old boys????

Ahy thoughts would help...

Thanks a ton,

With the ages of your boys in mind, you might want to stay away from the 'larger' waterparks. I stayed at Chula Vista this last summer with my 3-1/2 yr old and friends (children ~6 and 8). The kids had a great time. This place has some specials frequently listed on their website.

Chris, I live pretty close to the Dells, and I have been to the Great Wolf, Kalahari, Chula Vista, and the Rain Tree. I enjoyed them all, and they all are great for kids. I liked Chula Vista the best.

Dells Water Parks

The Great Wolf Lodge is nice. Lots of waterslides for all ages and storytime in front of the fireplace every night for the kids. And cocktails are available in the waterpark itself, and also at the resort bar... The Kalahari is nice too. Chula Vista is nice, just a little smaller. The Wilderness is huge with multiple separate waterparks that require very long walks to get back to your room. Have fun!

Last fall I went with my friends and their kids to the Wilderness for the weekend, went into it thinking it would be a bust, however It was really a lot of fun!!!! The outside was closed, so went to all the indoor ones. If you stay at the Wilderness the only people allowed are the guests, you can by a day pass at Kalahari for $25 a day.

The Wilderness is the best!

The family and i go almost every year to the Wilderness and it is a lot of fun, several indoor waterparks, laser tag, hot tubs that are connected to the inside and out, snow tubing with a lift to get you back to the top. Then back to the room for a movie and some order in. They bring pizza and whatever else to you room from nearby resturants.. We went to The Kalahri once and the flow rider was cool ( a constant wave for surfing) but we will only go back to The Wilderness from now on. Really some good memories and worth every penny.

Another decent water park in the Dells and a little cheaper than big parks is the Polynesian. Used to go there when my kids were more the ages of what yours are now and they had a blast and so did I. It's smaller than the real big water parks but still decent sized with an area for the bigger kids/adults and an area for the toddlers/younger kids.

I agree with the Wilderness being the best experience, especially for kids that age. There are multiple areas to go and the other conveniences are nice, too. If you stay at Wilderness On the Lake, you are allowed to go to the main resort, but you also have your own condo-type place to stay.

We pulled into the Dells several years ago in the rain and my son saw the bowl on the side of the Great olf Lodge and said he wanted to stay there. it was a great call, especially since it was raining. We would go back.

If you are talking the winter months or summer?
Winter months I would say Great Wolf Lodge 1st, Kalahari 2nd. For the summer months Mt. Olympus Hotel Rome 1st,Wilderness 2nd, Chula Vista 3rd.
Mt. Olympus in the summer rocks go cart tracks, roller coasters Worlds biggest wave pool 9 foot waves, lots of water slides.
You can't go wrong with any of the 5, others are too small and a waste of money.
I have a 3 year old she will be going next year.
Also I have been too all they are all good see what gives you the best deal.

One more thing all 5 have water slides for kids. If its in the winter like I said do not go to the Hotel Rome this park is the best for summer.
The Great Wolf Lodge has a big indoor Water fort with a big dump bucket for the kids. This will be the first water park for my daughter next year when she turns 4. This one is more geared for kids than the others.

Been to them all in the wintertime and my vote is the Wilderness. There is a good variety and we always find a table cuz folks are moving park to park. Usually we have a hard time finding a table as folks are "parked" for the day in one spot. JMO!

Have fun!

I'm with harski...The Wilderness is the way to go! We'll be making our 5th trip with our kids next month. We ALWAYS have a group going and either stay @ the Lake or get a cabin. That way we can bring our own food, cook our own meals and get the kids naps. Good times!

At Wilderness on the Lake, you have a full kitchen, complete with dishwasher, and a hottub in the unit. Bring your own food, cocktails, etc. and save some money. They also have gas grills out on the big patio, and char up your own grub. The pool area is smaller, but not as crazy. If crazy is what you want, you have full admission to the main resort, so hit the slides and the indoor wave pool.

Im sitting at the Kalahari right now for a conference but was at the Wilderness last weekend with friends. Kalahari is a one stop shop but I think the waterpark at the Wilderness is better. Some good rides at Kalahari as well along with bars on site.

Wilderness is great as long as you don't mind walking the halls. It got very old when you have a 3 year old and a 8 year old that kept wanting to check out the other indoor waterparks at the hotel. They are spaced out all connected by a hotel hall way. Was like a human freeway the weekend we were there. The next trip we took them to the Great Wolf and it was great for the age of my kids.
