wifes 05 rev, ski ?

Bought my wife an 05 550f rev last yr. and she complains it steers some what hard and it still seems to hunt on the trail some. It has the pecision skis on it and I had talked to scott bergstrom and we put the shim under the rubber last yr. My question is, would the pilot ski with the doolie wear bar under it be a better ski. Does anyone use this setup? Thanks Todd

I have always used the Berstrom set up of shims, ski saver and wear bar. I do have a skidoo with this set up and works great. My dad had a yamaha that was not tracking well. We did just put ski savers on it and it does not have the tracking problem at all. I would just order the ski savers and that should work for you,

Seems as though Precision skis on a Rev are not very popular with many people. They say the Pilots are better, or even the old 'Doo Flex ski. I got rid of my Precisions and went with Slydogs. Much better. Got rid of the girlfriend's Precisions in favor of the Flex. Jury's still out, as we haven't been able to get in enough riding time yet.

In addition to shims and ski savers, make sure the ski is aligned properly. You should have very minimal darting if all this is done, without having to resort to a dual carbide runner.

Pitch the precisions and switch to the Pilot 5.7. Your wife will love you. I did this on my wife's 05 500ss. huge improvement.

Heh! how do you get a signature? I bought the pilot 5.7 skis on ebay then picked them up. They were New take offs from a dealer. got 2 skis, hoops, rubber snubbers, bolts and stock carbides for 1 low money of $125. Price I thought was very good!

I always had trouble with my 05. When I bought my new 09 GTX I did not like the Pilot SL Ski's and put them on the 05 they were great on the 05. I now have Precisions on my 09 and they are perfect on that Sled.
If you buy Pilots the SL's may be the ticket for your Wife. They will push in the corners if you get aggressive. They steer very easy and do not dart. They are double Runner Carbides close together.
