Guys and gals. It's getting real out west. They are taking away awesome riding areas. Please, help us.

I saw Boondock Nation also, it made me think about these problems too.
It is not necessarily about sleds only, the Feds (BLM) are trying to implement a land-rescission in Utah, Colorado, Nevada and likely other Western States as well.
It is a different reason in each State (heck County) that revolves around politics and money.
I toured the Bear's Ears National Monument by Jeep a few weeks ago (switch-backed it to the top) and sought an answer for myself why politicians are fighting over it. I really don't know why, must be gas/oil under the ground or something financial.
Anyway, in Nevada it is grazing rights and Ranchers are fighting the Feds with guns to the level of impasse and prison sentences. Pretty bold stuff when a person's livelihood is at stake.

2 cents, Bear

Thank you for reading my post. I am friends and Sponsor of Jadian Pfaff. Queen of the hill at Jackson Hill climb. She was in one of the episodes on BN. They take me riding in terrain 10 minutes from Jackson that is unbelievable country. Maybe someday when they're trying to take away the land up at togwotee lodge more ears on this website will listen. BTW, right now if you do ride up at togwotee they are trying to take away MT Leidy.

Jackson, WY; now there is an interesting case study on land ownership.
My Wife and I love Jackson and have been there many times in the past five years for summer vacation (Snake River rafting etc.)
I remember my first trip there in 1991 when our parents took us skiing Snow-King (snomo hill climb mtn.), Jackson and Grand Targhee; it was an eye opener to the beauty as well as land ownership. I remember my Father asking countless local people (waiters, hotel staff, Ski area staff) where they live and they all said they had to drive in from outside the area as housing was non-existent to the non-wealthy. Turns out the Feds had most land all locked up to protect the area (I am sure there are benefits though).
Fast forward 27 years later and the Government controls the majority of land, working-class employees of the local businesses still drive in to work and The Federal Reserve Board of Governors "The Fed" still meet in the area to make U.S. Monetary decisions (and likely influence the area in general).

in here you'll find a lot reasons why this is...start at camp trailers and go down....wrap you head around the VIOLATIONS...and then let that sink in...then go to the historical buildings....my guess is old lady slivovitz calls ALL THE TIME....so no one builds there...no trailer parks...no appartments....and on and on and on

yes so am I sherlock... I sent the letter and then I started doing some digging and looking around that town and finding out what's going on and why they're grabbing the land and making them wilderness study areas.... and how I know to do this is because it happens in our area for instance they want us not to drive jet skis and ski on the lake anymore and they want to drain the lake so they said that the muscles on the river are in danger and since the muscles are in danger then you won't be able to operate your jet ski and then need to lower the lake and return it to a river level and old lady Slivovitz with money drives this whole process and so she does not want you low-lifes running your sleds and Motors around this is how it goes and the first thing you do is don't allow any low income housing trailers apartments or building of any cheap crap that way only the rich can access the land and then you call it a Wilderness study area and no one can get in capiche Sherlock

In a surprising result, the Teton County WLPI Proposal failed, meaning snowmobilers and other mechanized groups maintain their access to public lands. Thank you all for the snowmobile community’s action and involvement.

Thank you fellow JDers that submitted online letter. We appreciate your time and support.
