Will MI Governor Open the U.P. Before the Rest of MI

The U.P. is really more aligned with WI than downstate MI. However, there are a lot of covid cases in MI, but most are in the Detroit area. I heard on the news tonight that states can open up by county if they want to.

The western U.P. health dept consists of 5 counties and has only 6 covid cases. I think this portion of the U.P. could be opened up right now.

Does anybody think Governor Whitmer will soon open the U.P.?

There have been protests in Lansing that the Governor has gone to far. I think she should open up at least parts of the U.P. The only hot spot in the U.P. is Marquette county and that is mostly because the covid got in a nursing home.

Wait,,,What? A few days ago you were posting negative comments and pictures of the president and his supporters. Not sure you’ll receive any sympathy from us (TrumpT—-ds). I guess your going to have sit at home and watch The View and wait till summer like the rest of us now. Mi., Wi., Mn., Il., governors all lean to the same side, enjoy the ride.

X2! Funny how a shift in the criers opinion has changed, I too say to all of them... sit back and enjoy the ride, this is what you wanted, what you once thought necessary, this was a good idea. What???? now this is starting to put a cramp on something you want to do? DEAL WITH IT! this is what the "CRIERS" wanted, well you got it! wasn't any better of an idea than it was weeks ago. I have heard the argument from some "CRIERS" that we had to do this because we were entering the unknown, well that means we panic the country into the worst possible outcome, predictions that have fallen so far from the truth, from the facts! Now people want to change their mind??? TOO LATE!! Enjoy the stay at home!! Enjoy the economic roll back and shut down!! you "CRIERS" cant change your mind because this is now starting to put cramp on what you want to do! Well said Candyman! ENJOY THE RIDE! this is what you criers wanted!

I predict you will see more protests occurring, especially since the worst you can now receive is a citation to avoid the flood of arrests falling into the DA's office, The level headed people have had enough! and as far as those that have stood by this decision of desocialization and economic shut down, get your blanket and find a corner somewhere to go cry in it, I don't want to hear it.

Amen...…...their are rumblings in the air that level headed folks of WI are going to meet in Madison on April 24th at the capital to show a sign of solidarity supporting a re-opening of parts of state with little virus impact...… hospitality and small business cant go till May 26th....

Whitmer went way too far with her restrictions cant purchase plant seeds , no paint , no motor boats are just a few of the civil liberties she took away. My view on shuttering the economy was ok a few weeks but longer than that is unsustainable. Time to open up the Midwest per Trumps staggered requirements. I do think schools should stay closed they are germ factories during normal operation. Let’s get on with opening up the Midwest and let the high risk people self quarantine.

Amen to the Protest on April 24th at 1pm in Madison. Pass the word, I wish I could be there but I will be working. If I can get home from Dallas to be I will attend, its one protest that I really believe in (Our constitutional rights).

This is ridiculous what they are doing to us. Could go on and on but its all been said already.

I am am at DFW airport right now waiting for my flight and there appears to be about 35 people ticketed. Quite a jump from the 10 people that flew down on Monday.

Lets get America back up and running again!

Stay safe and healthy but I know you will because most of us have the key, its called common sense....

I got garden seeds yesterday, she can't stop the smaller stores from that ridiculous restriction. I have not started my garden from seeds in decades, for fear of nursery's not being able to sell their product, here I go.... -Mezz

I can't see them locking down past May 1st.....maybe I'm wrong.
I think they extended it and then they open things back up earlier than that to try make themselves look good. My .02

Just because Michigan has a shared border with Wisconsin doesn't make it any more aligned than any other state touching its borders.. No the Guv will not open the W UP. Its a MI statewide order. WI is messed up enuff dont drag MI into it.

Yep woke up to that announcement on the morning TV news Racine County Sheriff just doesn’t agree with shuttering all area businesses. Imo the governor has to be more selective in opening up small businesses in WI. One size does not fit all. I have no idea how local yokel cops will react to the Sheriff but good step in the right direction to open up the economy.

Both Governors WI and MI don't care about the North. Northern Wi has very little CV and my County has zero. I had a Deputy in my Office the other day
and he didn't care about any restrictions from what I could tell.

This Virus is spreading in big City Buildings and Transit and the last thing that should be restricted is outdoor Garden centers or outdoor activities.

It is ridiculous that I can go to my Camp in the UP and someone that lives in MI can't go to there's. How is anyone going to spread CV going to their Camp.

This Idiot Governor in Wisconsin even closed State Parks because no one is picking up Garbage. So where are the State Employees that usually pick up Garbage?
Sitting somewhere getting paid I bet. Garbage workers are essential. Mine gets picked up ever week here at Home, One Guy drives the Truck and one rides on the back..

If I decide to go to Camp I will not bring my Wallet along and spend any Money on the way in WI or in MI. I can haul all my Food and Fuel. So don't feel I will be bringing CV 19
to the UP. I have a higher risk driving and getting in a crash.

Now, if I lived in Milwaukee or Detroit or any other hot spot and ended up getting sick up there that might be a issue. Bottom line if anyone lives or works in a area that has
CV 19 stay there and everyone else practice social distancing and we will be fine.

OUTDOOR RECREATION: State parks will begin a phased re-opening under guidance from the Department of Natural Resources. Fishing and boating in groups of no more than two people will be permitted. A list of parks that will be open on May 1 and additional guidelines can be found on the Illinois Department of Natural Resources website HE RE .
