John, How big would you like to see this event? I am sure we could round up some Marketing people in here to help take it over the top. Even though I am 12 hours drive away I will volunteer to help out.

Sorry to chime in JD......I helped with some of the lodging special descounts last yr at the Super 8 in Houghton, and the Copper Crown (best western) in Hancock. I'm sure I can work out a discount again with the owners. If you'd like to book early just pm or email me and I will get you all the information for either place.

Have a great day thinkin snow.

We have stayed at the Copper Crown Motel many times, that would be fine with us, but I understand the party is held on the Houghton side so Super 8 would be nice also

Thanks, Scorpion Lover forever

The dates are Feb 4th and 5th. You can read more about the event and particulars here.

I do plan to spruce up the info page a bit this autumn, but that should give you a pretty good idea of what goes on.

As far as I am concerned, the more the merrier. After the first event, I had aspirations of it becoming huge. Perhaps even the event where the next years sled models are rolled out. However, I have changed my tune a bit and like the idea of a more intimate group of folks getting together. I enjoy being able to go around to all the tables and meet every one and thank them for coming. Plus a smaller event is easier to manage!

I guess the bottom line is somewhere between 100 and 250 persons would be the sweet spot. Every year so far we have at between 110 and 140 attend.
