Any of you Wisconsin sledder's putting your 2 registration decals on the rear part of the tunnel? Or do we absolutely have to keep them on the front 2 side panels? Sure can ruin the graphics of a sled. Need to put them on a new 12 Ski-Doo GSX SE 1200

Thanks

I know what you're saying. This is always an issue with any sled. I've put mine just behind the shock in the "well" part of the panel towards the rear of the sled. Haven't been pulled over yet. I have an '08 XP. Good luck

I ended up putting mine on the lower part of the side panels so that it wouldn't mess with the graphics. Heard no complaints yet.

Put all of my stickers on the windshield, I would rather have them wave me on than get stopped. I agree it sure does ugly up a sled fast.

I have my Wis stickers on each side of the windshield and the Michigan one on the front of the windshield above the headlight.

According to the WI DNR Snowmobiling handbook:

"Display—Unless there is an exception, your snowmobile must display current registration decals, which must be prominently visible on both sides of the cowling."

I say put them where you want, just don't b i t ch about getting a ticket for not having them where the law says you you should put them. All it takes is one DNR/sheriff/police officer who is having a bad day. :)

See where I put my WI tag. The MI went in the middle of the hood cover piece. I haven't been stopped yet and have ridden two weekends already in the UP.

IF you do ride in Wisconsin, the reg. stickers must be displayed, if you have them in your handlebar bag or jacket pocket won't do you much good.

A few years back a guy I ride with had one sticker come off one side of his sled, and the other started to peel off so he removed it during that ride so he wouldn't lose it-his bad luck was to get stopped later in the day and the WI DNR warden wrote him up for not having any reg. stickers on his sled even though he described why they weren't on the sled, fine was like $120 if I recall correctly.

I know what you mean but look on side panels has to be a place somewhere. Rear part of the tunnel not a good idea + can get lots of snow & ice in there. Don't give WI DNR a reason to stop you then you have trouble not worth it.

I register my sleds in Wisconsin. One year I put them on the tunnel and I did get pulled over by the DNR. He told me they need to be on each side of the cowling. He let my wife and I off and just warned us. Said that we run the risk of a ticket if we were to be stopped by a different DNR officer. I put them on the cowlings now.

I put them there on my F7 and never had any problems...

If you haven't put them on already, put them on the windshield flares. I bought a sled from a guy in Wisconsin last winter and that's where he had them.
