Wisonsin trails when can the open (end of hunting season)

I was wondering when the earliest is that trails can open in Wisconsin - weather permitting. I understand it varies by county. Pretty sure Iron County is Dec. 1. Most of the rest as I understand it begin when hunting season ends. As there is some snow predicted I was wondering where (by county) things can open and when?

Thanks!

The earliest they can open in Marathon County (central Wisconsin) is December 15th. If we get the predicted snow for this weekend we might be able to get the groomer out and start packing (where there's no swamp) and drive some frost into the ground. We're getting closer by the day!!!!!

Most easements with private land owners are written Dec 1 thru Mar 31. There can be exceptions per land owner request. It is up to individual counties to have stricter guidelines and open or close the trails as snow conditions dictate.

This " Link " may answer a bunch of your questions. Many of the clubs have updated tentative opening dates. While others provide link to their trail report pages. Obviously it will ultimately be based on conditions.

Southern Wisconsin looks to get a lot of snow in the next few days and next week too.
Do they open around the fifteenth also?

catalac,

Only about 1" so far but things are freezing up nicely. Our lake is completely frozen over as of this morning.

Sawyer county open year round!
Weather permitting of course.

Not necessarily true - there are some gates, and private land that trails cross. Tuscobia? Yeah, go for it.

SWEET! And with the forecast, things should be very well setup by the end of next week!

To find out who and what is open, go here: http://www.travelwisconsin.com/snowreport/snowmobile

Good spot to check also.
We usually wait till lakes are staked before venturing out.
We only ride tuscobia when getting to areas we like to ride!

We're going to start grooming this Friday in central Marathon county (WI). It would've been nice to freeze things up good before we got any snow but we'll take it. We got 7" Saturday night/Sunday and about another 1/2"-1" overnight. It's going to get cooooooold this week so things should start to freeze up nice.
