With the advent of employers unable to do anything to employees that are "afraid" to go to work out of "fear" of their health, or just because they can make more money at home instead of work, I am waiting to see and you know its coming, the ambulance chasers lawyer/attorney commercials.... "if your employer didn't provide you with safe work environment and you contracted covid-19... you may be entitled to a settlement...call now" One of the manufacturers I deal with is experiencing production and logistic issues to an severe extent because alot of employees are "afraid" to come to work.....right. Come on people!

at one of my locations I have 15 employees out of a total staff of approx 65 that don't want to come to work. We provide masks, gloves and take their temperature as they enter the building. Most of them are younger individuals.

But yes, the politicians have now opened the door for a whole new area for lawsuits or claims. Hopefully congress can pass that bill that prevents that from happening. Not holding my breath as Nancy won't stand for it.

What need to happen is the federal government needs to stop giving the extra $600.00 then you would see people wanting to get back to work. Was more is there a timetable on when that will happen? Yes I could look it up but to lazy. Lol

Some people are legitimately horrified by Covid 19, others don’t fear it at all, others are comfortable with social distancing protocols then there are other variables that each individual needs to rationalize to feel comfortable at work or being out in public. Sooner or later we all have to resume our lives and be productive. Me I’m ready to roll never really holed up kept shopping when necessary constantly outside on my property as a retiree. I’m supposed to be at risk due to my age but refuse to shelter in place. I’m thinking another 20 years of life then I’ll be happy to know my name. Lol. I’m living my life with changes adapting trying not to offend others by my actions in public but all in all I’m shaking and moving and doing FINE!! Do what makes you comfortable and so will I. I tell my riding bids yes I like triple digits on grades been riding like that for 35 years but don’t feel compelled to ride like me stay in your comfort zone I’ll wait for you on the trail. Same with the new normal adapt to your comfort zone and it will be different for everyone. On the other hand don’t be surprised when someone else is hired to replace you as production moves on for those willing to work. Imo adapt or be left wondering what the **** just happened!!??? LOL

They should never have given people more money than they were currently making. It makes no sense and is really going to hurt getting people back to work prior to those benefits ending.

Let's hope those who have decided this is a 'better' life, still have jobs to get back to when that runs out.

It will end up speeding up automation and making some jobs obsolete. Already my forklift regularly gets the employee of the month award. Never late. Never sick. Never complains. Don't pay workman's comp on it. Don't give it an unappreciated Christmas bonus. Doesn't talk behind my back. Look forward to hiring its cousins someday.

Exactly my point employees HAVE TO ADD VALUE! If you are not adding value to the bottom line you will be replaced by someone else or automation. Imo don’t get comfortable riding this virus out and collecting handouts. Go to work somewhere it is an opportune time to try your hand at something else don’t waste this time on your butt!
