Have to agree with John Dee about this being the most haunting song I've ever heard. I was nine years old when it happened and can certainly remember the song. My parents have some property along Whitefish Bay and I remember freighters taking shelter in the bay during bad storms. I also have done some carpentry work for a retired captain of the great lakes and he has told me of some tales also. RIP.
