XC120 Clutch issues

Looking for some 120 experts. On my kids 120 the clutch is sticking. When we first start it we have to have the rear end of the ground as the track will spin instantly and if you hit the brakes to stop the track it will kill the sled.. After running it for awhile it will gradually loosen up and allow the sled to stop and idle. I've greased the heck out of it to no avail. Any ideas?

if it has many hours on it, get an aftermarket one, better performance and adjustable for engagement.

To Elf
Go to babbitsonline.com web site and look at snowmobile parts Polaris model 120 and then look at clutch detail, it gives you a pretty good detail of clutch assembly also list the part number for a replacement if you want it. Not an aftermarket, OEM There really is not much to them.

Thanks all. I actually bought a service manual for this thing at Hay Days and forgot I had it. It does appear that I am overgreasing it and it showed how to disassemble and clean. I will pop it off one of these days when it gets above zero outside.

Quick update. Took the clutch apart tonight and besides being very dirty the spring that holds the weights had a broken end on it so thats the main reason the clutch was sticking. So I fashioned a hook end on the spring, cleaned it all and reassembled. Haven't actually put it back on yet but it spins freely now and should be a huge improvement. Thanks for the help everybody!
