XP Renegde snow on the air intake

When I go off trail I noticed the air intake is consistently covered with snow. I have never had an issue because of this, but I would think it is not ideal. I wipe it off every time I stop but it will be covered soon after. Any solutions?

You can get a fine snow filter for this. What yr. is the sled I may have one.

I can't remember if the later Renegades come with the screen on the intake but if not, I highly recommend installing one. It was a real problem with both my older Summit and Renegade REVs until I put screen socks over the foam intakes.

I believe mine were made by SLP. I just pulled the foam out, slipped the sock over it, and put it back in. The snow and moisture doesn't penetrate the screen so it doesn't accumulate. I haven't had a problem since.

Intake Kit for XP

Cobraindy,

Your XP most likely has screens but there is a kit made specifically for the XP to help eliminate the plugging by moving the intake.

It's available at http://www.shadetreepowersports.com. I've purchased from them many times and been very satisfied.

The product description is as follows:

"For Ski-Doo XP
This High Flow Intake kit for the Ski-Doo XP increases the air intake surface area by 33% to reduce the chance of the intake plugging in powder snow conditions. It is located higher than the stock intaake and within reach of the rider so that any snow that collects on it can be easily wiped away. The kit consists of a molded plastic adapter that seals between the stock air box and the hood along with an intake grate that utilizes pre-filter material that repels snow and waterwhile passing air through. This kit is a must for anyone riding powder snow conditions"
