Yamaha Grizzly 4 wheel drive problem

I have been having problems with blowing the fuse on the 4 wheel drive on an 02 Yamaha Grizzly it is just a little 3 amp fuse and it kept blowing. I checked the amp draw and found it to be 6-8 amps. The test manual shows you a way to test the engagement motor with 2C cell batteries. So I decided to remove the motor to do the testing when I removed the motor it felt like it was under spring pressure. Now I am concerned that something needs to be preloaded when assembled. I did find the motor to be bad electrically

My question is does anything special need to be done when it is reassembled or was the tension caused by the motor failure and I will just need to install the new motor?

Skeeter, you simply reinstall the new one. It's a bolt on part. Hope this helps.
