Yet another Winter Forecast

Watching the local news tonight here in Green Bay I saw FOX 11's meteorologist Patrick Powell give his abreviated winter forecast. He is calling for average to below average temperatures for all four winter months, as well as above average snow in each month, for a grand predicted total of over 70 inches for Green Bay (normal average 51). He was predicting even colder than average temperatures the farther north you are (U.P.), while there would be even greater than average snow amounts to the east (Lower Peninsula on into the east coast). The complete half an hour broadcast of FOX 11's winter weather broadcast can be found at: http://www.fox11online.com/generic/weather/plowing-through-wisconsin-winters

Weather is kind of weird here in SW MI. Even across the bottom 1/2 of the state and into OH, NW PA & Central NY. Normally ( what is normal ? ) these areas from my memory have cooler temps by this time every year. Kind of disappointing for me, I would like to see the drop in the temps to start freezing the ground. I just picked up another round of leaves yesterday and don't ever remember having such a sustained warmth this time of year ????

Think Snow....

I'm just south of you in South Bend, and I can remember it about 50/50 with warm weather this far out. We average 75" of snow down here, but in the last 10 years we only had about 3 times when you could get a corn field ride in around Thanksgiving (8"+).

Don't worry, it's comin. Long term forecast for next couple weeks shows a nice downward spiral for the temps, mixed with snow.

^ just south of you, hamlet.
This is going to be the first year in thee years I haven't plowed in November. (Nov.21, 2008) Usually the November snows don't last more than two days.
