Hey guys I need to get a carb rebuilt/cleaned for a 1983 yamaha 440ss. I got the sled to start but it bogs really bad, and only runs with the choke on. Sled been sitting for 10+ years. I pulled the carb out, thats the extent of my knowledge. Does anybody know a place I can send the carb to get serviced. I'm in northern Illinois, it doesn't have to be local I'll ship if I had to. There's a little bit of snow around I thought it would be cool to get this thing running for my nephew.- thank you

You can take that carb to any local motorcycle or small engine repair shop. Try and find a Yamaha dealer near you in case they would have to order new gaskets for it. At least you got it running after 10 years. I'm sure it just needs a good cleaning. They should be able to have that done by the next business day.

I agree. Any motorcycle shop will be fine. Northern Illinois huh? Hammertime in Belvidere or Nielson's should be close if you are in NE ILL.
