Lazy thunderstorm came in & cut short my outside activities. I was just picking up my last can of stain & brushes walking towards the porch & WHAM a bolt of lightning takes out a maple tree 30 feet away. I had an adrenaline rush like like intravenous caffeine shaking all over & my ears ringing. Dang tree exploded lucky I didn't have splinters sticking out of me. You have no idea the power of a lightning bolt until 1 strikes next to you. I feel lucky to be alive !!! Amen

After I pulled myself together I spent the next hour rebooting all my direct TV boxes,Wildblue & had a circuit breaker that would not reset for some reason but finally did reset. Very lucky I didn't get hurt or lose any of my electronics. I don't know how I didn't get hit but seem to just take out the 1 tree in a big group of trees & the wall sockets on the strike side of the basement right below where I was standing. Must have been my lucky day!!!!!!!!

Just had a good lightning show pass around us here in SE MI.
That would BE SCARY.
3 of us stood under an Airstream awning once during a T-Storm, and One of us (not me) was leaning against the metal support pole staked in the ground. And SLAM a nearby hit and he was jumping and hollarin' but was OK.
