This weekend I put the boat away, closed the pool, and picked up the sleds from the dealer for the pre-season check up. Time to replace breaks on the trailer and other minor maintenance and I am ready. Looking for a cabin to rent over Christmas so hopefully we will have some good snow by then.

I would suspect the end of the month we will be talking about oil again...

I have some input on trailer brakes. I found a 10" electric brake replacement kit at Tractor Supply. It seems that I got stung for some cash in the process. If you go to e-bay ahead of time you can buy 10" or 12" kits relatively cheap for the entire assembly. Drum, all brake components entirely assembled. Just remove the (4) 7/16-20 nuts from the axle plate and bolt on then adjust the shoe's in . They come LH & RH as a set." per axle " A 3500# axle requires a 1750# brake kit. ( JFYI )

When at Tractor Supply I got stung for $139 for just the brake assembly ( components ). They had the drums split up and for sale @ $159. On -line I can buy DEXTER 10" 8-247 for $139, which includes both drums R & L and brake assemblies R & L. Plus shipping of course.

I have had good luck with this company for trailer parts, brakes, etc. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/category_trailers-trailer-parts

That would be awesome if you can get out there to run your's also. If your in the western U.P. this winter let me know, I'd like to check out your set up, i give it a thought to getting a kit for either my KX500 or YZ450F just not sure how much I'd use it.

I am hoping to make at least one run out there, we have had a blast running the forest roads up towards lake of the clouds in the past. there are a few guys with the 500 2 strokes in snowbikes, probably the best choice besides the mpg part. they have by far the best hp to weight ratio of any bike.... oh and once you ride a snow bike you will be wondering how much you are going to ride your sled. My first kit was on a cr125 that I could only get out of third gear on hard pack and even with that wimpy bike I already sold my only sled to buy a bigger bike! I already know I will not be looking back on that choice. the only hard part is not being able to run trails and lakes at super high speeds, with a top speed of 75-80.
