Prescription Goggles

Has anyone ordered these? I use a full face helmet with glasses for snowmobiling. I would like to get one of the motocross helmets for summer atv riding, or just get the goggles.

Where is a good place to get those? I'd like to get the polarized goggles.

Thanks

I've got a couple buddies with the "Pro Vue" set up. Just need to give the guy your prescription, and he has them customer fit into a set of Pro Vue Smith goggles. If you can kick in for the extra upgrade, I'd highly recommend getting a set with the ventilation fan to help eliminate fogging. Good luck.

I used the Pro Vues a coupleof years and had good results. I did change over to contacts though and think I like that a bit better

Fight the fight and learn to use contacts. I wore glasses for 20 years and switched to contacts 3 years ago. It took me 15-20 min. per eye to get the contacts in but i refused to give up. Now it takes me 2-3 min total and i can't belive i ever waited this long to make the switch. DO IT

Check out Rudy Project goggles. They have a eye glass holder for their goggles. Goggle lenses scratch way to easy to be spending the bling on prescripting them. I can not do contacts myself. Talking about eyes make my eyes water.

I used contacts for many years. I decided a long time ago that they weren't good for my eyes. Glasses are the way to go imo. Gotta get that oxygen to them eyeballs!

Thanks for the info. I'm going to look into the provue and some others. I was just trying to save some bling since I just bought this rzr. My darn hobbies are sooooo expensive!

I can't wear contacts because of an issue with my eyes. Have used the Pro-Vues for about 10 years now and love them. Snap on an amber lens and I'm good to go - good to cut glare and give definition during the day, but clear enough for night. Only drawback I have is that I have to bring a pair of glasses along for when we stop to eat, etc - no biggie.

I've used the Pro-Vue for 5-6 years now, love them. I can't do contacts. Pro-vue with the snap on lens, I prefer the yellow in flat light.

My next question is; what is the difference between moto x and winter sport goggles?

I was going to just get the snowmobile pair in case I decide to convert to an all off trail guy ;) But seriously, I wonder what the difference is.

I've been contemplating the Pro-Vue's for a couple years now, and I'm definately pulling the trigger on them for next season. I tried some 509 Sinister's this season, which worked well, but still had fogging on my glasses...just getting tired of it....I'm gonna spend the $$ on the Pro-Vue's. A side note...I only have fogging issues in the winter, when in the summer on my atv I've never fogged.

Been riding with pro-vues for 12 years now. On the 2nd set of goggles. Work great and love the snap lens system.

Pro-vue great set up you can use the snap on lenses or order goggles with a yellow lens. The snap on lenses work but you will get snow dust in between. For fogging use a no fog mask and you should be good to go.

I ended up buying the Pro-Vue today. The only difference between the snow and dirt is that the snow is the dual lense. So I ordered the dirt for now along with the dual lense. I'll put that on in the winter if I decide to go with that style of helmet for snowmobiling.

Thanks for all of your input.

I wear glasses and thought I would switch to contacts because the glasses are a pain, especially when snowmobiling. Now keep in mind my prescription glasses also have the safety lenses for work. Now I'm thinking this is going to be awesome, no more glasses issues!

Crap, I went from having my prescription glasses and a pair of prescription sun glasses to adding a pair of "readers" (I have bifocals) so when I had my contacts in I could read, plus regular sunglasses, plus a regular pair of safety glasses. When the wife and I would go someplace, half the time I didn't know what glasses to bring so I would bring them all just in case I was or was not going to wear contacts. Went from two pairs to five pairs to deal with. Dropped the contacts, I wear glasses, back down to two pairs.

Glasses are a pain sometimes. I have 2 pairs of prescription sunglasses. One pair in my truck and the other in the car. That way I always have one when I'm driving. Now if I go out in the boat and drive the truck I just use those and just remember to get my regular glasses out (I carry those on the boat in case it gets dark).

I've been using my glasses with a brp modular 2 and that works pretty good for the most part. I may try one of these sno x helmets with these goggles next year though. I'm just going to get the snow helmet and use it for summer and winter. I try to be budget concious ;)

Glasses suck. Contacs suck. Lasik is the way to go. Did it 8 years ago and will never regret it. Next year I am getting a shield set up that projects a GPS map and MPH on the inside of the shield on the upper right hand side. Saw it in SnoTech. Gotta love technology.

I started riding sleds in 1984 and "fought" with contacts and /or glasses.

In 2003 I switched over to a Motocross Helmet + Pro-Vue and never went back.

They place the prescription lenses into a pair of SMITH or SCOTT goggles (and others) of your choice.

Just call them with your prescription right over the phone and you'll have them in a week

The goggles over this neat tinted lens that "snaps' over" the goggles in 5 seconds.

I'd rather give up snowmobiling than go back to a "full-face style of helmet.

There's a pic of them in my Avatar on SnoWest and Hardcoresledder

I wanted to dig this up. I have the Scott goggles from pro vue. Is there a specific helmet that is going to work the best with those?
