Is it over??

It's not over! A couple doozies will quiet the masses. It has been a horrible season and the snow monkey only has 151 miles. I plan on doubling that figure on dirt and rocks this weekend!

call the whaaaaambulance. I heard no fat lady singing. All kinds of riding in the woods. If you are a trail rider, yes your days are numbered.

I have been getting excuses this season from a lot of my riding friends. I think their snow standards are to high. Every single time I felt like going for a ride on my sled, I was able to. I am tired of the complaining.

Every weekend they say, "not going there is not enough snow", I always make sure to send plenty of pictures of me out playing in excellent conditions. Super Duper Excellent if you compare this area to the rest of the Midwest.

There's no crying in this "recreational activity" ;)

80" of snow

According to the snow fall numbers on the current Western UP and Keweenaw trail maps we were 80" short of snow fall total last year and the year before compared to recent, previous years. I am not sure where we are standing for this year but it can't be far behind. But, snow is around you just have to find it and then take the good with the bad.

On a foot note; 80" is a sh*tload of snow to be missing out on yearly, let the crying begin.

Haven't summerized the sleds yet, but kinda moved on to other stuff already. Ya never know, if Ma Nature cooperates maybe we'll sneak in one more trip. Starting to really feel like spring out there though.

I own a bar in Southern Iron County Wisconsin, & cannot believe that more people are not riding here. We have lots more snow than this time last year. The roads are covered and the trails in the woods are great. I spoke to a friend we rides a new Rush yesterday. He rode from Iron County south to Phillips area on Saturday and said it was good trails. A
guy also could spend all day riding the Turtle Flambeau Flowage which is nearly 18 miles long and thousands of acres. I have a group coming up & we plan on riding to Lk Superior on Thursday. 2-4 inches would be nice, but we can ride on what we have. We have at least a 10" base with about 2 inches of powder from Friday. Riding should be good here for at least the next 2 weekends. You have to be a bit saavy and stay away from larger towns and the main cooridors.

maybe not with JD's extended forecast for next sunday and tuesday. Also a couple of other metorology sites (i'll keep them name less in respect of john.) indicate a possible good dumping of snow. bring it on man!!

Just got in from checking fence lines on my 4 wheeler. Was a couple spots where I had to work at it to get through the drifts in the open but for February it is unreal how easy I could get around on a 4 wheeler. Usually I don't worry about fence until later spring because there is enough snow that the animals don't/can't roam too far, but with this weather they can and are wandering around quite a bit.

Looks like Canada, eh??
yup! One of the guys got an Ontario Police to stop and answer some legality questions we had on riding a certain area and he never even looked at our permits. Very nice guy. To bad it isn't that way in the states. He said have at just stay off the highway and main street in Wawa, the rest is yours. Sure would of liked that in writing! But did not push it. :)

We received 5-7 inches here in Iron Co. Wisconsin, yesterday. By far the best riding conditions of the season so far will be this weekend. With a great base and now a top coat of wet powder for good slide lube, we are in perfect condition. More snow coming as a bonus.

The biggest vintage event of the season is also scheduled this weekend in Springstead, WI. Braapfest will rock.
