Take a look at the upper Midwest radar. What a large area of moisture coming down! The problem is the radar is showing up green, not blue. Why does it have to rain in December? Our lake is a mushy mess now with slush all along the edges and huge slush puddles forming all over the lake. What a mess the ice is going to be this year! Can't we ever get a decent snow and cold year again? Vent over. :(

I would think by the end of the day it is going to be pretty green around here again.:(

Sigh, although I didn't hold much hope for this system.

It's really starting to become difficult to justify the money I tie up in this hobby for a 6 week season...

Been raining steady here in the Wausau area for a few hours. What little snow we had will be gone by tonight. If the temp drops 10 degrees, we're dancin' in white gold. Unfortunately, that doesn't look like its gonna happen. Time to dump the sleds and pick up four wheeelers, this is getting real old REAL FAST!!!

I don't even have a sled for this season, sold it last year.....I sure as heck ain't gonna get excited about buying one now anymore either. Where was all this rain this pas summer when we NEEDED it? Mid December and not even a speck of frost in the ground.....unless winter goes well into April this year, I'd hang it up.

For the first time in my life thoughts of giving up on this sport around here are running through my head....maybe sell the sled and do a trip or two out west...rent a sled..

Curious how much longer the industry can sustain this weather...combined with a so-so economy...before one or more manufacturers drop out??

Its pretty warm up here in Twin Lakes but no rain yet! there is only about 2-3 inches of snow here!
I hope something white happens soon! Its like a ghost town up here!
the wall at Krupp's mart if FULL of snowmobile related gear and no one to buy it!
all the resorts are empty!
There was like 2 people at the Ramada singing at Euels Karaoke show!
There was 3-4 sleds at the Bug bar yesterday which was nice to see!
I didn't even bring my sled up, just working on the shack this weekend!
I picked up my new plow truck yesterday so I hope that doesn't jinks things like buying this house in Twin Lakes did!
Its still early...... the great riding will start right after Xmas!
I have no doubt!
Let's keep our chins up eh?

Great title for your post. Thanks for the laugh between my tears.

Glad I could help just a little bit! :) You are right though, I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

No Timo, that's not what I meant......what i meant is, that unless this year's winter drags through to April, I'd consider giving up on the sport. It's hard to justify owning a sled that you can only ride 3 or 4 times in a year. Don't get me wrong, if I had the cash laying around, I'd have a sled in the shed. But at this point, I think I'd rather put the money toward something else. Trust me, I do miss riding......

I guess we just need to determine who's fault it is

I say Santa is to blame. He put the kabosh to cold weather and snow.....who can blame the guy, he's been trudging around in it for years, and for what? To give toys to kids? I'd wish for warm weather too if I was him. I bet he moved to Arizona.....dirty rotten over stuffed elf!!

I'm "the glass is half full" kinda guy. My sleds were filthy when I pulled them out of the trailer. It was on my list to spray them off. So I just rolled them outside to let mother nature do it for me. That'll teach her. When life gives you lemons.....:)

Hopefully its making a transition that stays!
