LED lights

Only problem with LED taillights is they don't get warm and wont melt any snow that gets caked on to them. May not be a problem for pointy-shaped ones, but anything flatter will certainly have a problem.

One of the regulars in our morning coffee group has the factory LED accessory lights on his new SkiDoo....some of his riding partners were complaining how bright they were when turning around in the woods and they have to look at them. FYI

I read the same stuff on other sites but it's not the case. Thus far I've been out in very cold to very mild temps. If anything the old style bulb created more heat which caused the snow dust to stick. The lens on the LED Tail light stays pretty much clean and any residuals would be overcome by the brightness.

I do hope that is the case. I know some areas that have gone to LED traffic lights have had to install "warmers" on them to keep the blowing snow from building up on them during a storm.

After a storm-dusting in Illinois (Fox River Grove on Rt. 14) the lights were covered with snow. Morons were flying through the intersection one after another. Sure enough there were multiple crashes. When there is no light you would think this would be an indicator that some thing is wrong. Stop or at least proceed with caution. Nope.... Never even touch the brake. The whole point of LED lights is to conserve energy. Now they are adding heaters?!!?!? lol So now they have more expensive to manufacture stop lights with heaters that are going to consumer more energy than the good old fashioned lights. You know they prob wont be smart enough to have the heaters only come on while needed. I would be willing to bet they will be on full time.

LED tail lights on sleds should not be allowed if you ask me. They are worthless. (the stock ones) Maybe if they were super bright it would be ok. I really like the helmet lights. You can always see them because they are above the snow cloud behind the sled. You can get a wireless transmitter so the brake even works on the helmet.

THIS! oh my god this....

I had to go into work ( Barrington) that day and everytime I stopped at a light some idiots going eastbound (I was going back home) would blow through the lights. The sad thing is every time it happened it was only in one lane with a line of stopped cars in the other lane..... what on earth is wrong with some of these people?!
