Best Fish Fry in Eagle River area

My family and I will be staying in Eagle River this weekend to do some riding. I am looking for some suggestions on a good place in the area for a fish fry and also who has a good burger? I have a few thoughts based on places we have been already and either liked or disliked. I have also read some of the reviews for restaurants in the area. I am interested in what fellow John Dee faithful have to say so lets hear it!

Best burger in ER is at Sweetwater. Fish fry not sure that is a not problem but we like all you can eat fish so look in Vilas County News paper for all you can eat fish fry of the week.

Honey Bear gets my vote for best fish fry in E.R., hands down! Don't forget to order a Bloddy Mary as an appetizer......yes, I said appetizer.

For a burger, go 8 miles north to 12 Pines North in Conover. It used to be Cocktail Corner and then Tipplers. The new owners are serving up a 3/4# burger with all the trimmings and it is awesome.

Been a little while, but my fish fry vote is for Bonnies Lakeside in 3 Lakes. AYCE fish and broasted chicken. In town used to go to White Spruce also, but was there last year and I'm not certian, but I think it had been sold and didn't seem to be as good as I recalled. Could be that I'm not recalling correctly so don't rule it out unless someone else chimes in.

"Catch them out of the lake, and eatem, doncha ya know". My favorite fish fry in the ER area are the ones I cook up in the garage after a long day on the lake or ice on all the wonderfull lakes in the Sugar Camp area.....

However,

If I am forced to go out to eat my fish may i suggest:

Bonnies Lakeside- Three Lakes. Bonnie is one of the nicest ladies and resturant owners you will ever meet.
Moon Dance Bar- Sugar Camp. Perch and Haddock only but very tasty. Perhaps the best cheese curds anywhere
Honey Bear- ER very, very good

Heck??? In all my years of riding or fishing the ER area im not sure I have really ever had a bad fish fry????

Popes Gresham Lodge in Woodruff has a good fish fry. Not exactly Eagle River but by sled its just a short rip away.

Does the owner still have cartoons on the TV all the time. We were in there a few years ago during an NFL playoff game and had to ask him to change the channel from cartoons. He did it but was reluctant.

If your looking for pizza on a different night, GOT to stop at Log Cabin in Conover right on trail, I'm from Chicago and I wish they had a joint here!

I appreciate all the feedback so far. Originally we were thinking either twelve pines or eagle waters for fish and the wicked grill for a burger. I see some compelling arguements for other establishements here, am I way off on my original thoughts here guys? Again it is fantastic to get your first hand input, thank you.

Fly right past the Log Cabin (unfortunately) and go 2 miles North to Club 45. Authentic Chicago pizza with a few flavor twists that will make any food lover come back again, and again!

As for the fish, can't say that would have been a place I would of thought of.

Bob the previous owner, or did he buy it from the last guy I'm thinking of. Spent a lot of time there up till about 7 years ago.

Can Vouch for the pizza at either Log Cabin or Club 45 in Conover. If you are traveling 45 North do not pass either of these places on the way to the UP. Dave and Jen will make you feel at home. Either place understands it's about you and yo are family.

↑ SO TRUE!

HA! Some things are authentic, but not sure about the pizza!

Huh? ↑ I don't know what that means? But the pizza is as authentic as it can get outside the Chicago area. Dave & Jen are originally from Chicago and are well aware what "makes" a great Chicago style pizza.

Bob T bought 12 pines in Fall 2012 previous owner in Conover now. I keep telling Bob we will eat there but have not had time. Bob said in his opinion 12 Pines was in need of updates so he remodled. Bob very smart biz man makes big bucks up here on everything he does a quality, hard working, standup guy well worth knowing.
