The Indy 500 broke 10,000 miles last night!

My 2003 Indy 500 reached 10,000 miles last night while we put on a 50 mile loop here in SE Wisconsin. My son was driving it. I Snowchecked this back in 2002. Thats's an average of 1000 miles a year without any major problems. My previous 1990 Indy 500, now owned by my friend CobarIndy has 12,000 miles on it. Both are still running great. My 06' Switchback currently has about 5,300 miles on it and I can only hope it reaches the 10,000 mark. Kudos to Polaris!

Yep, sold 4 Poo's in December. 2-2000 500's & 2-2002 600's with a combined milage of nearly 80,000. Never even reringed them. Still going too!

Keep it going! Congrats to you as well.

I have had a few sleds go to 10k, then I normally sell them. With kids, they sure do inflict a beating on things , not sure how many bumpers I replaced and tunnels I had to bang out.
Congrads on the 10.

I have an 04 A/C F6 that broke 16,000 miles last weekend.........one new track, two jack shaft bearings, and primary clutch replaced..........thats it.

Compression still 127lbs in both cans, never a stuck power valve (Thx Amsoil).......I have three other sleds with 10,000 plus ......all running like champs......

Take care of your equipment, it will take care of you.

I thought you were referring to "The Indy 500" from this site....congrats on the milestone now only 10,000 more to go!

my dad had a 2008 600 Switchback that had 12800 miles when he traded it in on a 2010 switchback. Only thing that sled got was 1 belt - 2 new plugs - some bogie bearings and 1 set of hyfax. When he traded it in they rebuilt clutches and rear shock and they dealer uses it for a spare/shop sled. last we heard it has 14500 and still strong.

Congrats Snowdance! The indys are bullet proof, many more years of fun to come with that machine!

Thanks all! Still have the original shocks in it, which are in dire need of replacing or rebuilding…If only I knew a guy… :) T4T do you happen to know if these shocks are rebuildable? I have haunch they aren't because the Indy was pretty much the base model.

10,000 miles is like riding coast to coast 3 times with almost 1,000 miles left over. That says something about your Maintenance Skills. Congratulations!

I agree with earlier said, congrats and kudos goes to the owner/operator for some awesome maintenance and care. I always cringe when I read about rebuilds at 4K miles.....

Whats's funny is how everyone is complimenting on my maintenance skills. It gets lubed once a year. I throw some Sea Foam in the gas in the spring and most years it never even gets fogged. Maybe start up once during the summer. Change the chaincase oil here and there, wash it in the fall, then it gets ridden mostly by my son now. Thats about it.

Best sled I ever owned was my 2001 XC600 SP. I had 13800 on it when I sold it. Went through a track due to stud failure and that was it. Just normal belts and plugs. Worst sled was my 07 600Switchback. Three motors in 4500 miles, pistons. Wifey told my to get rid of it, and I always do what she says, so I bought a 2011 Rush, a 2012 Adventure, a 2013 Stealth Inline, before she told me to stop.......God I love her.....lol.
