Best place to stay around baraga

I haven't stayed there, but I've stopped there on the snowmobile to eat lunch. I think it's the only one in the area with a hot tub, which is nice after an early season ride...
The Ojibwa Casino has a motel I think. Hilltop Motel in L'anse is right on the trail and the restaurant is good.

I would say the L'Anse Motel in L'Anse or the Best western in Baraga. L'Anse motel is cheap and clean. The Hill top in L'anse is dirty and then there's a really nice place in between called Water stone suite but I wouldn't give those people a dime. My mother in law stayed there once. When I smoked I was outside having a smoke one of the cleaning people came outside and told me she hopes I die of cancer. They're real sweet people there. And they were pretty rude to my mother in law too.

The casino will give you better access to the west and north.
The Hilltop will give you access to Big Bay, Baraga Plains and areas west
If it was my dime, unless you're a gambler, I'd stay at the Running Bear in Paulding or, go north and stay in Rockland. MANY more options for places to ride to at either.

Not sure. Just make sure you don't try to head north to Houghton out of Baraga. The trail to Chassell wasn't groomed when I took it 2 years ago, and there was no way to get to Houghton from Chassell other than riding along roads going west until we hit trail 3. I've heard there's some access type trail to Houghton from Chassell but it's not marked. You have to head west/southwest out of Baraga on trails 15, 8, and then take either 109 or 12 to trail 3.
