Break downs or lack of...

So far this year I have been able to get more miles on then the last two years combined. I have seen more sleds on the trails then the last four years. Have been seeing them all. From new this year (just a few) 5-10 year old sleds (a majority) and lots of old sleds. And when I say old I mean this has been sitting in the barn since the 80's and I thought I would drag it out old. And I have been seeing a lot of them. But with all that said I have not seen one sled broke down or being towed. I know there are a few threads on hear of bad luck but I am really surprised I havent seen break downs. Are you folks in other areas noticing the same.

I noticed this too i n Southern Wisconsin the last couple weekends. A couple weeks ago I saw a group of old Enticers and phazers running em hard! must have been some young people because the trails were pretty drifted, made me smile!

Hahaha Doug! I guess there's some irony in the fact that the only time I've ridden your neck of the woods was on Superbowl Sunday...we dropped at M140 and ran up to Lawton...and we saw probably 5 separate groups with at least one hood open and a bunch of head-scratching going on!

That's wild...we were out and went up that way on the east side the same day and didn't see any. Maybe they were trying to keep up with my wife...she had an crazy appetite for speed that day...lol

How you enjoying that new sled Mike...tryin to talk the wife into a Yammy for the next one but she likes that Doo chassy to much. I did tell her (well maybe not TELL) that next one is going to be 4 stroke no matter what flavor..

Well...I've got almost 7000 miles on my 2010 1200 Doo, so I bought a 2014 1200 Renegade from Leaders Marine last week. Picked it up Friday on the way to Cadillac...it lasted 39 miles and shut down on me 4 times on the trail before COMPLETELY shutting down and not restarting right next to my trailer. So...right back it went...waiting to hear results as I type... Not a happy guy, I'll tell you that...especially considering its going to be 4+ hours of my time to go and get the damn thing when its fixed. Fortunately, I kept the old sled as a backup and still had a nice weekend!

I rode a Viper a couple weeks before and was really impressed, but still liked how the 1200 handled better. Think I might get the wife a Viper next year, actually.

Break downs? I've got two sleds that rolled over 10,000 this year. A 95 Indy Lite and a 2001 MXZ 600. This is off the MXZ this weekend by Iron Mountain.

This has been a great winter for seeing the old sleds come out of the barns. Love seeing them out on the trail. Had a group come in at a pit stop with their vintage suits and metalflake helmets. They looked sore but having a great time. Saw a few old sleds left for dead at street crossings but thats about it. What I have noticed more this year than ever before is blown belt debris all over the place. Even more than I remember from the old days. Maybe its the old sleds blowing them, maybe not. But they need to get their mamas out to come pick up their belt mess.....;)
