Looking to change riding area's next winter, something more scenic!
What's your top 5 area's?? ( on trail, not off..:)

Well, depending on how far you would be willing to drive might be a deciding factor for you. The Keweenaw would be a nice scenic change for you, in all honesty, short of the Mountains of Wyoming or Montana which is gorgeous, the Keweenaw has a lot of scenery not to mention the best snow this side of the Rockies.-Mezz

Not necessarily in any order

Lake of the Clouds,

Brockway mtn road

Bear Den (Sturgeon River Gorge) off of trail 109

Montreal River Gorge off of trail 160 Ironwood

I love the rocky terrain going into Big Bay & trail 8, in the Michigammie area. Really so many area's.

Huron mountains up peshekee road . you hardly see another person snow is always deep . Have dinner at mount shasta. Do alittle rip on lake michagamme .As close to heaven as i can get .

I have to agree with one question. Where is the River Gorge on trail 160? I have been down that trail and out on the lookouts and lake shore, but I have no idea where that gorge is located.

I have to add one to the list.
Bond Falls is fun in the winter. It is my desktop background.

Have been out to west Yellowstone area before very scenic and the bighorn mtns as well very scenic around mn and wi my favorite spots for scenic riding are voyageurs park area in northern mn its amazing the chain of lakes trail, rainy lake, ash river all beautiful riding. Another favorite is the north shore of mn all the way from silver bay to Saginaw lake but my favorite spot in this area is from the gunflint trail over to grand portgage along the pigeon river some of the most scenic terrain I have ever seen. I also think that the iron range trails are scenic as well. have been in a lot of northern wi and my favorite for scenery is ride from iron river up to bayfield and them trails. Have only been to UP twice and last time was 10 years ago so don't remember a lot but would like to get back soon

Iron River MI, Amasa MI, Republic MI, Sidnaw MI, LAnse MI. You like Twistys they have them you don't like Twistys stay away.LOL

The Montreal River Gorge is hard to explain but I'll try. if you are heading west toward Saxon Harbor at least 4-5 miles after the Lake Superior overlook and that mtn lookout you come into a fairly open area by the power lines. Thats where the view of the Gorge is you have to get off the trail or walk about 20 yards west where all the pine trees are there should be tracks that where you view it. You can also catch a view a little father down when the trail bends to the left.

Trail 160 eventually comes out on a road to get you across the Montreal river. So if you hit that you went to far. On a side note I have both white water canoed and kayak the Montreal River Gorge, the whole thing is about 3 miles long. The put in is below a water fall and you go down to the river via stairs I bet they are 200 stairs. One time when I used my mtn bike to get the car at the put in I saw a black bear on the road.

In addition to Brockway and the Hurons, as previously mentioned.....Drummond Island in the eastern U.P., Jordan Valley in the northern L.P. (just went through there today).

As you are heading west look for the barbecue grill on your left right after you make a 90 degree turn to the right. As indybru stated it is a great view. Be careful not to fall off the cliff it is very steep.
