If you are OK with heading a little south I would recommend the Up North Lodge near Gwinn! Their steaks are great and the ribs are to die for! Incredible salad bar and nice atmosphere too.

There are a lot of good places to eat in Marquette too but I'm not sure about Steaks in Marquette? Based on the cities you listed I do think Gwinn is close enough and worth the trip?

Used to live in Iron Mountain. My favorites were T&T Supper Club, usually a wait. Fontana's, Romagnoli's in that order. Wife would say Fontana's.

We always like Derocha's 41 Steak House & Sports Bar west of Ishpeming on 41, close to hwy 95. Great prime rib on Saturday.

This is on the south side of 41 correct? Have been past there a bunch of times & always busy. Might have to change it up to Derocha's. Plus closer to camp, & the wifey loves prime rib. Thanks everyone for the fast replies.

I would second the recommendation for Up North.......although we weren't terribly impressed with the steak (tasted fine but cut too thin for our liking) the ribs are quite possibly the best we've had in a restaurant..........

Fontana's has closed up. Heard Derocha's is good as well though.
Try T&T's-------- AMAZING !!!!

Is Fontana's the one that would
make you wait a hour for a seat when the dinning area had a dozen empty seats? I tried it twice and never went back.

Red Brick in Niagra on Thursday has a 12oz Fillet for 9.95,,,I think it is bigger than that.
Greenleaf Sports bar in Kingsford has all u can eat Rib Eye on Wed for 17.00
Bartoleties (sp) in Aurora Fillet,Lobster & shrimp on skewer on Sat for 17.95

Simply playing you for the drinks. Sometimes you just want to eat and hold the drinks for the rink. I once waited 40 minutes for a table, my wife and myself with 4 other friends, at a 140 seat restaurant. Seriously...we were the only people there. Wish their food wasn't so delicious.

What we do when we go to camp . We bring a few filets from here in fip land . We grill them ourselves at camp bring wine etc . We do the same when were out boondocking in winter .Bring bunson burner cast iron skillet and cook cut up marinated filets . For us its more fun and the service is terrific .We hardly ever eat out up north. One of my favorite places is mt Shasta in michagamme . I love that cabin and a nice backwoods ride from Ishpeming . We got thirtyish inchs this week.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions, Fri night we went to Derocas had a great meal, awesome ribs + pickled herring on the salad bar, yum. Sat night we were in MQT & decided to go to Hudsons, service not so good but the food was great. It was her b-day wkend so all up to her, the rest of the time spent infront of fireplace watching the flakes come down. & best of all no kids.
