Trailer Parking

Does anyone know if there is a place to park a trailer for a couple nights around Champion/Republic MI.
Just looking to hit a new area for a change. My place is in St Germain Wi and although its a great area would like to
see a different one. Was thinking of parking there and heading NE up along the lake(ish) for a couple days ,any thought from experience would be
appreciated. How's the grooming in that area? Does this ? Will try to go weekday but work might not allow that. Thanks.

When we park for pitstops in Republic here is a fairly large spot right in the middle of town.
You could drive a little further to Ishpeming too. The Magnusen country in has a large remote lot next door.
If you are backpacking you could get to Ishpeming easily from St. Germain as your first leg instead of trailering.

My goal is to explore more area that I haven't seen so that's why drive a couple hours then get to go farther east.
Been there done that around Northwoods of WI and Western UP.

Just a little story in case it helps.
This was quite a few years ago. My friend and I parked in Republic for a one day ride. It was below zero all day. No real plan, just headed north toward Champion to Ishpeming to Marquette. All roughly 15 miles apart so stopping to warm up was no problem. Still felt good so we made the 30 mile run to Gwinn. Got pretty comfortable at our stop in Gwinn as the sun went down and the temps dropped further. Spent some time deciding if we should backtrack the way we came or complete the loop. We decided to make the 75 mile run on the southern loop back to Republic. If there was even one place to stop in between, I didn't see it. So that was a pretty long, cold ride. If we would have gone the opposite way, the long stretch first, it would have been the perfect ride. Not sure what is in between Gwinn and Republic now. Maybe something by Silver Lake.

Thanks for info, I appreciate it, Won't be this coming weekend but the one after. I weekend traffic as busy as the western side of the UP?
Hoping it warms up by then a bit. Never used to mind the real cold but not digging it that much anymore. A lot of it is the lower windshields
on the new sleds. I put a little taller one on my new sled but still take on a decent amount of wind. Plus I have to see if buds can go.

not much in between Gwinn and Trail 5 except the "phone"

An ambitious days ride. Without getting out the calculator, I would say at least 300 miles. If it were all like a trail 2, I’d say no problem but there will be areas to slow you down. Once you get to the eastern counties, plenty of intersections. Throw in the possibility of rough trails and it could be a fairly long day. If you are making a reservation on Drummond, I would probably have a back up plan in case you didn’t make it.

Yea, 300(ish) is a bit much especially 2 days in a row. I'm sure there's plenty to see if we keep it to 200 miles a day.

if you want to ride new territory in the central and eastern UP....maybe just stay on the road an hour longer and stay in the Munising area....
you can cover 200 miles in both directions from there.
