Anybody ride Arctic Cat XF 7000 LXR Off trail?

Wondering how the Arctic cat XF 7000 LXR is off trail. I ride for the most part on trails but do venture off into the deeper snow occasionally. I have found a good deal on a 2014 XF but am worried about how this 4-stroke will navigate off trail. All my riding is done in Northwest Wisconsin so it's not a ton of snow, but we do have the occasional year where we might have over 20/30 inches to ride in.

No sure on the Arctic Cat model differences. My buddy has a 7000 and the lugs are 1.3*. He had no issues the other week up in the UP in 2-3'. My Viper has a bigger lug at 1.6" and I had zero issues.

How long is the track? My 14 cross country has a 141 with 1.6 lug. It does good oFF trail on unplowed fr but I'm no boondocker with it. I like it even more now that I'm riding 50/50 on off.you'll know it's a four stroke when you get in too deep.it will make a good mostly trail sled for you especially with the lxr coil overs.

It's a good machine but weighty. Typically heavier sleds require nor effort to handle. At the same time that chassis does steer light but the sheer weight will be noticed when off trail. A crossfire is an excellent off trail machine, much lighter and a nibble chassis

My off trail mainly consist of braking trail. Not to concerned about carving and quick turns around trees. Just wanna make sure this sled can push some snow and not instantly stuck.

I ride mainly trail but want to make sure I can be confident off trail that is what helped me chose the Viper XTX. The 1.6 lug, 141 track and uncoupled suspension. I do not know which Artic Cat that converts to. Since my off trail experience has been with my Ski Doo Renegade 1200 the XTX is great off trail. The downside is the air shocks w/o coil over are not so comfortable on trail.

depends on your physical ability to throw around and extra 150#'s vs a sled like an RMK....Best way to figure this out is to jump off trail and see if it is a PIA or doable for you.....I am in not so great shape, but was able to navigate through 36" a off trail with a 2013 121 x 1" Indy SP 600. I'd say my Indy is more off trail worthy than your 3cyl yamacat....just sayin....add 150# to the weight machine and see where it takes you.....BTW, I love that yammy motor....I own one.

Hey Bergs. Sounds like you know what your off trail plan is. Now you need to figure out where you want to make your sacrifice and how much of a sacrifice you want to make! Off trail weight is a major factor! No matter how much we want to believe it the heavier 4 Stroke offerings may be a bit more capable than there short track cousins but they will not be as capable off trail as the lighter 2 stroke options.
A 136" 2 smoker will be more capable off trail than a 141/144 4 stroke whether we like it or not. At speed just about anything can hammer out miles on fresh POW roads. For most the stucks come when slowing to turn around or stopping to take a break.
Do you want 4 stroke durability or 2 stroke capability?

I know tough call right...

you should be good i have the xf it does pretty good in deeper snow just had it in Colorado in grand lake could only make it about half way up the mountain (gravel mnt) before it ran out of power did not change clutch weights still ran pretty good you will want to change the carbides for steering i use the woodys slim jims we have 2 cats both run good alot of low end power top out around 90mph

I have the 2014 XF 7000 Limited. not the LXR, but close enough. I do my riding in/around Cable/Hayward. I have been happy with it in all conditions. your off trail abilities are more about you and less about your sled in NW Wisconsin. If you were riding in Cooke City, I would have a different opinion. Great sled.

Keep me posted on the sled. I am looking at the specials they have for the XF 7000 and might pick one up. I mainly ride trails and never ride off trail in trees but will blaze a trail from.time to time (Nothing in deep powder)

Just got a XF 7000 HC. This sled is based off the proclimb chasis. While I was breaking it in I would jump off and back on the trail. Pulled way off the trail for a groomer in about 1.5 to 2 feet of snow. No problem at all. Did not sink one bit. No track spin or trenching. I am starting to rethink the general opinion 4's are to heavy for off trail. I guess I will find out when I really start testing her. I never noticed a backshift between trail and deep snow. The engine has enough muscle to pull through anything.

Plus no 2's stinky-stinky.
