It all comes down to you tuning your sled how YOU like it. Some people like tuning their sled to them, others just ride them. Whats perfect for one guy is 180 degrees from what the next guy likes. Hopefully revalving the shocks gets you where you want to be.

My hope as well just have to make sure Hygear knows what I want & why. My front end handles super just should have scrapped the triple points sooner after I rode dfattacks Apex XTX with Snow Trackers. Really nice to have a bud with exact same sled for mod comparos..... one other bud went to high windsheilds now we all have them on Apex. Now the only difference I have is the rox riser but I have longer arms & legs than dfattack. To me everybody is different & stock adjustments only go so far then you need to mod for whatever improvement you need. Only problem I see with mods is continous improvement costs money but so far ride comfort improvement is priceless. The other comments like I never have seen Pete ride like that before or I can't keep up with you anymore on my sled. Hey do the mods I did & enjoy the ride your are working way too hard too keep up. lol![]()
did ya happen to notice a 3mph increase in top speed WOT with that taller windshield, cause that's its effect. think semi cab deflector. but keep that on the down low for all the ricky racers slowing them selves down with that strip of lexan that points the air currents at their shoulders head and face....all together now....DOH
Can't say I saw increase in top end but a whole lot easier to ride to have wind come up over the screen & press me into the sled instead of hitting me in the chest forcing me to use arm effort to pull myself forward against the wind.
ya no kidding...make sure you watch the wind tunnel test of a taller windshield...your RPM's went down and gas MPG went up too...its a win win and flying by a ricky on a lake is just cream on top too
I agree with this to a point but 6"6" bud put an aftermarket Windshield on his Rage & dropped 8 miles off his top end & mpg dropped too. That screen was soooo high we called it the spinaker after huge sails on sailboats. A 6'6" rider has to do something to block the wind on cold days but he also was a top end rider every day so when warm enough he swapped windshields.![]()
I see you from PHELPS....does tom still own the LAKEVIEW MOTEL and does JIMMY still fix sleds... I used to ride 1000's of miles in that area for years...love the smoked salmon at SAND LAKE PUB...is that still there too

I remember when you didn't want to go higher because you thought you needed the airflow for your glasses. Then we had two years in a row where the ice accumulated on our shields and Venturenorth had the tall wind shield and he didn't have any ice. Once we changed to a taller wind shield we didn't have any issues. That's really the main reason we updated to a taller shield. I would happily give up a couple MPH at the top end since I don't EVER ride at that speed.

In his case..same thing. He may need the taller shield since he's so tall to begin with. All I've learned over the last few years is the cold cutting into my chest and the ice on those misty/icy days are not worth the lower shields. Never understood those mini windshields being stock.
