that Vilas trails will open Monday Decemeber 12th provided that we have enough snow cover. Trail inspections are ongoing.

Oneida has never speculated on trail opening dates and is not doing so this year as far as I know. At least nothing new on that subject has been discussed in county meetings. They typically respect the 9 day gun hunt and then open as soon as conditions allow and trails are signed off as ready by the clubs.

Oneida is always a bit later than Vilas farther south and northern parts of Vilas get LES. WUP will be December 1st an about 2 weeks later Vilas. Sometimes it is difficult when Vilas gets an early dumping in Nov but all one can do is ride private land and lakes in Vilas and wait it out. Forest County I'm never sure private land owners sometimes won't open land until January so I follow 3 Lakes on snowtracks since they groom extreme northwest Forest County trails. Forest County trail conditions can vary soooo much north/south/east/west.

Also liked hearing that the ATV club is grading flat the trails they use to put them in better shape once the snows come.

Venturenorth and I have strong interest in riding east thru Forest and continue east on a day trip. Since your turf maybe we can meet up for a ride? Parts of Forest County are like riding 20-30 years ago ...no one but us.

Conover bought a new tractor & traded in the old one (we run 2). Also, we now have a grader of our own; Haven't seen it in use. We do share some trails with the ATV guys and the old rail grade from Hwy K & 45 North and East 3 miles to Muskrat Rd intersection with the Great Headwaters bicycle group. The cost to build the bridges & improve the grade was a shared deal last year.

Ahh! The Alvin Inn. Is it still there? I haven't been up there in a few years.

You are correct. Fo. Co. is very remote in some areas.
I love it. I'd also be up to ride with you North Vilas guys.
