No, I've always been nerdy. Lived in northern Maine for over a decade...regularly saw 50-60 inches of snowcover, even saw 75" in 2008...and I've always been a prolific picture taker.
I also have a habit of reading books while I'm outside walking my dog through the streets. So people know I'm off a bit.
lol.
But no, I'm not noob to intense winters - I've seen -40 and colder multiple times (whether at our house or via driving to remote cold spots in the Allagash of Maine), received 40 inches of snow on christmas day, on and on.
It's what I love.
But yeah - I'm happy today, lol.
And god - still getting crushed by snow outside.

As for myself, a too-long "displaced Yooper" in da Airyzony desert, I can't see too much of it! "Weather weenie"? Me too!
And while you're there, if you're any kind of history buff, in case you haven't checked it out yet do not miss the Calumet Theatre, just a bit less than 200 ft. north of Shute's.… Also, looks like you are in a great location - just down the street from true Calumet landmarks such as the Michigan House, Shute's, and Bucko's
T'is fairly innocuous from the exterior, but step inside and it'll blow you away, it's a hidden gem of local history.

I recommend an unhurried self-guided tour — see ALL the nooks and crannies. Bring your camera, if allowed. You'll feel like you've been transported back to Ford's Theater, in Washington D.C. circa 1861-1865 and will almost expect to see ol' Abe Lincoln sitting in one of the boxes on the left.
Be sure to check out the "performers' dressing room", up a very steep and narrow stairway backstage and smaller than one of Clark Kent's telephone booths.
Dressing room? Seriously? Ol' Clark Kent could barely turn around in there, never mind the performers of the day having to deal with their elaborate operatic/theatrical costumes: Madame Helena Modjeska, Lillian Russell, John Phillip Sousa, Sarah Bernhardt, Douglas Fairbanks, Sr., Lon Chaney, Sr., Jason Robards, Sr., James O’Neill, William S. Hart, Frank Morgan, Wallace and Noah Beery…
Note: the Calumet Theatre was built in 1900 (40 years after John T. Ford turned the The First Baptist Church (1834) into a theater in 1861) when the village of Calumet had a population of approximately 4000 and more than 30,000 lived within walking distance.
