Really????????????? As to the jumping thing, I didn't say you couldn't do it. You can do anything you want. But I wouldn't. Like I said, to each his own. And the bike battery was not hooked up in reverse terminals. The last 3 batteries I replaced were, 13, 10, and 11 years of service, all original, before replacing. I'm okay with those numbers.

Wow I'm surprised thats all your getting out of Interstate batteries. I've gotten like 6/7 years out of them. I haven't run them though in quite a few (15 or more) years, since I used to get them at cost from work. Wondering if their quality control is not what it used to be?

Interstate batteries are made by Johnson Controls. Most flooded cell automotive batteries are made by Johnson Controls. Walmart batteries, Autozone batteries, Interstate, Optima, etc.

Buy cheap batteries from Walmart or similar with the longest free replacement warranty. There is a Walmart on every corner if you need to use the warranty.

Otherwise your choices are Exide batteries which is its own company, and Deka Batteries as its own company and its own different brand names.

Do you know if Johnson makes batterys for Fleet Farm? Just curious since that's been what I've been using lately, amd have had good luck with them. Well over warranty period for service life.

I "believe" Johnson Controls makes Farm and Fleet batteries.

There is a way to tell the different manufacturers apart just by looking at them, but I cannot remember what it is off the top of my head.

IMO Deka>Johnson Controls>Exide.
I personally avoid Exide, but have no issues using any brand of the other 2 manufactures.

Johnson Controls used to produce F+F batteries. When J.C. started to produce for WalMart, that did away with F&F. F&F batteries are now produced by New Penn. That same deal is why you can now by DieHard at F&F. The DieHard batteries are still produced by J.C..

Oh ok.
I thought Diehards were made by Deka. I could be totally wrong on that.

Either way, Deka/New Penn or JC are fine batteries.

Edit. Never mind I looked and it was Exide that used to make Diehards.

theres nothing there....no protection relay....its just hooking up a simple battery in series.....it wont hurt a thing...in ANY VEHICLE.....what does hurt them or go wrong....is OPERATOR ERROR and EVAPORATION....it called....water....buy cap batteries....fill with regular water

srt20; Deka is a consumer/retail brand name of New Penn batteries. WalMart used to be made by New Penn. In order for J.C. to get the WalMart deal, they could no longer do the Farm & Fleet deal. Just more "big business" demands. WalMart runs over a lot of their venders/suppliers.
