Left about 7am, 70W to 7N to 10W, past Hillside, 7N to 8E, across Buckatabon Lake, passed Bauers
Dam, back to 13S then 10w back to 7S. Didn't see ONE bump heading out for 10.5 miles.
Hard packed. Woods are very good, sunny areas are burning down.
20 degrees when I left and 40 when heading back. Right now it's 50 and water is rolling off the roof of cabin. Parked but I got my "fix". Better hope for a storm.

We will have to see on Monday if this changes.

The NWS is starting to say the same thing for next Friday so lets hope they all hold up.

With the sun as high as it is, this meltdown will be extreme. There will be flowing water in low spots. Don't know if 1 foot of snow will be able to salvage that kind of damage.

Don't give up yet Jim....Lots of snow in March let's hope it is early March late March won't help much. I'm locked in as of today Kentuck Rd bare but had a great ride Wednesday riding RT east to IR on 6/10/15...122 miles best conditions in a long time zipo traffic. XTX back on trailer but holding out for more snow & cold before I summerize and say it's over. Too early for fat lady to end the show....snowless 2 weeks and she can sing but not yet.:)

Pretty much did the same loop last night with a stop at Burnt Bridge. Ran into fresh groomed trails on the way back to Eagle. Came up behind a groomer going south on 13. After I slowed and waved my riding partner over, I noticed a set of lights ahead of the groomer, but they were pointing back at him. It took me a little bit to figure out what was going on because the groomer was still moving. . . was he getting towed or were there some kind of grooming operations going on that I've never seen before?? . . . Nope, Some IDIOT drove his SUV up the snowmobile trail and had to back out until he found a spot to turn around!! About 2 MILES!!! It was kind of funny because the groomer driver was still grooming at a pretty good clip while making the idiot back up pretty fast. lol. After the guy got turned around and peeled out of there we stopped and talked to the groomer driver. He said "It happens all the time up here!" WHAT?? Gave him a high five and laughed all the way back to the room. Awesome job on the trails!!

Went to Alvin Tuesday, trails basically good. BJ yesterday (via 13N, 6w & 15S), trails were basically good also, got rough near BJ but not too bad. Truth be told, I turned right & took the airport/lake route, so I can only assume 15S got worse near town. 8E was horrible to fair until Sayner but then only fair until south of K. Then fair to good.

After today I wouldn't venture out except perhaps across a lake.

Is the Alvin Inn still open? Have not been there for several years. What a trip that place is/was.

I remember having a great prime rib sandwich at the Brule River Tap about 5 or 6 years back but then I believe it closed and sold?...does anyone know if they serve good food?

Got to commend 3 lakes grooming of the Brule System...they do a great job and put in an excellent grooming effort! Do you know where 3 lakes parks the Brule trail groomers?

Thanks for the compliments. We have a second groomer shed in "downtown" Alvin.

Gonna take A LOT of snow and COLD to be riding anymore in Vilas folks.
Left there today and it's a mess. Leaving at 10:30 there were actually 3 sleds heading W on 70W, at 50 degree's, riding the most horrible mud/snow mix you ever seen. Crazy people out there.

Thanks for the info as I always wondered about that.... what 80 miles of groomed trails for 3 lakes to groom?... those groomers work very hard to give us well maintained trails many times a week. I have often passed the Kimball groomer on its way to Anvil Lake turnaround another outstanding 3 lakes groomed trail.

Thanks again! Here is an interesting spin on typical northwoods grooming from our Facebook page. Kudos to all the volunteer groomers.

Three Lakes - Brule River Trails

Did you know??
As of February 7th, we have logged 988.7 hours in our groomers this grooming season, which started December 20th. There were 50 days in that span or 1200 hours available to groom. So that means we had a groomer on the snow almost 82% of the time.
