so I get asked how do you know lengthening the limiter strap or lowering the front skid and not running studs is faster....your only one guy and one test....where and who else confirms you....LOL....so I point it out that's its been right in front of them for like 8 years now....then they're like where and who...ok says I....lets use the most recent facts and others that have conformed this...lets all take out our AM SNOW MAG spring 2017....go to page 18....its says...not one 2-stroke snomo cracked 90 (error also should be 100) in 1000 feet, but the thundercat went 93 and the sidewinder went 98 and both had more to give......see that paragraph....now go to page 19....start at paragraph that says....obviously, the numbers in the charts for these 2 are a little slower than expected....were inclined (big mistake) to chalk it up to conditions. these sleds are fully capable or 110 -115 .....pay attention now....IN STOCK FORM....they added studs and raised the limiter from stock position...stock is no studs and limiter in middle or last hole if theres 3.....they don't relate the 2 as having an effect on results....mistake....then read the paragraph in the black box at top between pic 3 and 4....read it slowly now...and I want to tell you that in those articles....both...they clearly state the holeshot is what every racer strives to achieve....also the top speed is off....RPMs way to high...it falls off 100 feet before the finish line and then posts a slow time in the mag....no one can figure all this out and put the facts together.....take notes youngins'...its not just me...but they cannot even see their own results....funny stuff.....keep adjusting and adding studs so I can win.....LMAO

PS...find out what track that sled runs that got the holeshot and then....think aboot lug height as well....dam im good....LOL

So what? There is no stock sled that has ever been mass produced that will stay with a Sidewinder from 30 to absolute top end. And I stud mostly for enhanced braking ability more than anything else. I am sure there are many sleds that can pull a Sidewinder out of the hole. But it isn't going to matter after 1000 feet. Or less.

As far as lengthening the limiter strap yes of course you will get a little more weight on the track for more traction. On some sleds you can change the coupling blocks or take them completely out to maximize weight transfer. If all you do is drag race all day then yes that would be the thing to do. If you really want to get carried away you can chain down the rear suspension and sink the front down as much as possible to eliminate wind resistance. And of course put on a windshield that covers the rider's profile. But when you lighten up the front end by letting out the limiter strap (s) you lose ski pressure and you might kind of need a little ski pressure when you get off the lake and back on the trails. Also a chained down suspension doesn't work too well on the trails. I am a trail rider and lake racer. Your observations are correct but not useful.

Had a bud the luved to drag race and he would spend about 30 minutes wrenching tranfer off skis to track for a 1/4 mile run. I was like who cares?... let's hit the trail. We would wake up in the morning and say....what should we do today lake or trails? I would say trails he would say lake everytime....lol...what can you do?.... I would set up rides and let him run grades at triple digits then listen to him bitch non stop on Twisties ...he really hated those and was a speed junkie but only on straights said twisties were too dangerous from a guy that just did 110mph on a given grade....lol... Overall you learn a lot of how to set sleds up for drag racing that help on trails including belt deflection but got boring for me after a few drag runs more fun for me on trails. I still don't care who is faster in a drag much rather eat someone up on a trail where riding skill is king.:)

Your observations are correct but not useful.

if you apply these facts and forget whether its on a lake or trail....you will notice something you tell me that's not usefull....but it HAS to be no studs.....studs are too much centrifical force and forward momentum....this is ACTUALLY why you describe losing ski pressure...because in reality...as we all know....you don't lose ski pressure....not even one ounce...unless your on a planet with less gravity....but by the sounds of it....you guys might be on another planet with some of the stuff you tell me....LOL.....youse must have a lot of OOOOOOOOH moments...lose ski pressure...that's a good one....from 1960.....DOH
