I forget the exact dates but if cutler was on the bears roster march 10th I think it was, he was guaranteed his 16 million so the bears saved 14 million as they had to pay him 2. gawwwwd idiots! lol . No one would trade for that contract....obviously. and if it wasn't for tannehill going down he wouldn't be playing.

The Bears are so far under the salary cap the money makes no difference. They will be lucky to win 3 games this season. They suck at all levels. They need bodies. They could have at least gotten a draft pick had they done things differently. Cutler, as much as he is no Tom Brady is still better than about 1/2 of the current starting QBs. If he would not have gone to Miami he would have gone somewhere else.

U are very wrong. U don't think the bears tried trading him. no one would trade for him when they knew he would get cut and could get him for nothing. common now...its common sense.

Kap is not playing because of the National Anthem thing. He is not playing becuase he no longer has any upper body strength due to injury and surgery. He can't throw. Michael Vick got a job after the dog incident. The outrage was about the same. We won't even bring up Adrian Peterson. Only so many guys can play in the NFL. If you have elite skills you will play no matter what you have done more often than not. People have real short memories after a guy earns them a bunch of fantasy points. Sad but true.
Cutler very lucky Tannehill went down for the season. Gase is the only coach that has any interest in Cutler and only when Tannehill was lost for the season the perfect O for Cutler if he is in playing shape. Jay was not planning on playing and coming off shoulder surgery so who knows how good the arm is?... Gase rolling the the 10-13 million $ dice for sure and would not give up a draft choice for an old injured QB in fact no NFL team was interested in Cutler and why he retired for the TV booth. I wish Jay Cutler well but a very inconsistent QB at best finished 500 with Da Bears. The Bears have an extreme log jam at the QB position already and Cutler not interested in #2 and would have been 2 or 3 with the Bears. When another starting QB goes down in camp Kap will get his chance or there will will be a trade simular to the Bradford deal which looks good a year later.
Grub don't be so sure the Bears suck this year lots of competition at every position with FA and draft choices. If the Bears can play 500 thru the first 6 games they will have a much better season than last year but their early schedule will make them or break them....prolly the most difficult in the NFL!

I don't agree with this either. kap isn't playing because no owner or GM wants the baggage he brings for being a backup. This was a topic of discussion this morning on mike and mike and they all said the same thing. He was about to be signed by ravens but the owner over ruled and said no way.

No doubt, they were actually competitive last year in most games with all the injuries to key positions and a bad QB. Some good upgrades, guys back from injuries and additions of some young talent should only help. I don't think they will be world beaters but for sure competitive.

Yes too much baggage for a backup. He is a shadow of his former self. No arm. But Cutler will be starting. That is the difference. The NFL is eating this up. Best story line yet this year. You just watch - Cutler will rebound and lead the Dolphins to a playoff spot. The Dolphins are a much better team than the Bears. They don't need Cutler to be Superman every week. Who knows - they may even upset the Pats one time !!! Everything in the NFL is rigged except injuries. Dolphins over the Pats in overtime on primetime. Huge ratings. More advertising revenue. And that is all that matters for the NFL.

Prolly forgetting a guy or two. That's it he maybe better than 5 or 6 qb's currently starting. Fins should of stuck with Matt Moore and his tiny contract. It won't make a diff with smokin' Jay.

Fins in playoffs last year and Tannehill not a great QB either so Jay better get them to payoffs to earn that 10 million prolly 13 if he makes playoffs.
