John's Friday Forecast

Something must have changed. According to the forecast map provided Friday I was expecting a few inches of snow when I woke up this morning. Instead it was clear and now snow had fallen. Did anyone get the snow he forecasted?

Don't bite the hand that owns this site....I'll take John's forecasting over any of the ninnys down here in SE WI that apologize for cold weather, ice and snow in the middle of winter but get absolutely giggly over 40 effin degrees.

I think the snow has shifted North a bit. I'm in Hayward, WI and it seems we are scheduled for less now as well. Might load up and head to the UP now.

I too enjoy JD’s forecasts. I’m not criticizing it at all, just wondering where the snow went. I also see our forecast for central UP is for freezing rain the next couple of days followed up by a warm up. Time to put the sleds on the trailer just in case the season is done. We did get about 3 weeks worth of riding this year. Seems to be the new norm. Oh well, can’t change the weather. I could trailer to snow belts but for us that takes the fun out of it. We like going from home.

I think he got a almost perfect for me. We had a little over an inch by 7AM and have gotten about 3 more so far. It is supposed to snow for a few more hours so we may end up with about 6 inches. I think I will go for a ride on a couple of rivers this afternoon

I enjoy the forecasts. I also use the gas pump forecast.
We'll see what is on the gas pumps in the morning. It is as accurate as the Rockland weather rock.

With mother nature, things change fast, things you simply don't have a crystal ball for. It appears that things went a little further north. What can you do, when it comes down to it, you can't shoot the messenger. Though, it does look like the Kee is going to get slapped, at least, tentatively speaking.:indecisiveness:-Mezz

You all serious....? ...I hope no one ever documents what is projected as snowfall totals on here and then revues those predictions daily.

don't forget the earth is out of sync by 2 months and is still correcting for the tsunami and the pole shift which is the cause of most of this abnormalities....this is why you see spring is wacky...fall is wacky....if you notice it will be unseasonal and then 2 weeks later mother nature will try to correct the season it should be....spring starts later....fall lasts shorter or longer and then winter will last until may due to spring being off....it will take years to correct this....and it might never correct if the poles shift all the way....but for now forecasts will be off slightly and winter will last longer so take solice in that and have your machine ready at the go until the end of april....that's is my take in all this and I leave you with a hint of positive outlook...been workin for me so far

We need Doc Brown to jump in his Delorean, hit 88mph, and get the Poles back in line.

And yes, I know there are several here that will jump in and say that 88mph is not safe.

If you look at the radar it's almost done in Conover/Phelps - lifting north and clear behind.
Northwestern WI getting hit real good.

no need to call doc....just look for yourself...happens all the time....scientists know it happens....how aboot youse?

https://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/2012-poleReversal.html

Scientists understand that Earth's magnetic field has flipped its polarity many times over the millennia. In other words, if you were alive about 800,000 years ago, and facing what we call north with a magnetic compass in your hand, the needle would point to 'south.'

- - - Updated - - -

Reversals are the rule, not the exception. Earth has settled in the last 20 million years into a pattern of a pole reversal about every 200,000 to 300,000 years, although it has been more than twice that long since the last reversal. A reversal happens over hundreds or thousands of years, and it is not exactly a clean back flip. Magnetic fields morph and push and pull at one another, with multiple poles emerging at odd latitudes throughout the process.

Hey Whitedust you know if of that snow is falling in Florence CO? Or is that to far east for this snow?

I'm not Whitedust but I can tell you northeast Florence county is getting nothing as of now. there is a webcam on the NCN you can check out for yourself too if you want.
